I first heard this track four years ago, and it's even more powerful revisiting it. The sound absolutely envelops you in this beautiful, terrifying way, like swimming into the belly of a great underwater beast. It could be used to accompany all sorts of striking cinematic images. The crescendo at the end is especially spectacular, gives me chills every time.

Sounds like the bass was just turned up to fucking 200 and the rest of the track was built around it. The soft, subdued percussion also helps give it that velvety, "underwater" sound.
