That quote from Episode 1 was false when it came out of Ki-Adi Mundi's mouth. They literally had just witnessed a Sith and the council didn't believe them. Perfectly shows where the Jedi were weak in their hubris. Previous encounters were obviously also dismissed, and it wasn't until Sidious that he could finally come out of the shadows since he had a plan in place to take out the Jedi. But he clearly had a master and had been in existence for how long? How long was Plagueis around for without the Jedi ever knowing? and who was his master? etc.

It's important to remember the Jedi council was already wrong about the Sith being back. Who's to say the Sith actually never left and Jedi who survived simply went into hiding for their own safety? Or the Jedi who survived were just dismissed and their accounts disregarded, and they were forced to just get on with their lives. I think the most likely ending in terms of the Jedi Order's response is gonna be almost painfully mundane in that it will just be dismissed as rogue/fallen jedi or opportunistic bounty hunters instead of a serious threat.

Something I haven’t thought about or seen many people talk about with regards to who that supposed Sith person is, is what if that’s not the big bad? What if it’s a rule of two situation. There’s a master and an apprentice. What if that person is the apprentice? To the master who could be one of those bigger names in Star Wars lore of which Sith would be alive during this time. Not Palpatine of course he’s not alive yet. Appreciate you guys bringing that up!

Also could it not be "Ventress vibes" or "Savage" vibes? The "rule of 2" has always felt slightly ludicrous to me and clearly the Sith agree, since they so often invoke loopholes such as training former jedi "assassins" that use red lightsabers in sith arts, but it's fine as long as you dont call them a "sith". Or scenarios where a Sith survived and even the other Sith wasnt aware, imagine a Maul scenario but where Palpatine and Maul both thought the other was dead? Both of them would train a new apprentice and keep growing in secret, believing themselves to be following the rule of 2 and the only Sith Lords in the galaxy. ...or it could just be an angy jedi that bled a crystal...

I'm holding off on calling them Sith until I see the show. If they don't follow the rule of 2, I'm not gonna consider them Sith. But if they are indeed Sith, then none of the witnesses survive to tell the tale.

@@MikeHesk742 that could also be an interesting way to look at it, but if I were to assume that this series was to set up something else bigger in the future, I’m not sure why you would go down the assassin route like with Ventress instead of just setting up the fact that maybe this is an actual rule of two. Maybe the apprentice dies at the hands of the Jedi and then the master comes in and deals with all the Jedi fully.

When it comes to the sith can’t be seen thing, I think the title of the show hints that we may not see a whole lot of sith in this show. An acolyte is defined as an assistant to a religion or religious figure, essentially. So maybe the show follows force users who are sith worshipers

I've heard the chatter about the negativity around this show and I noticed a lot of the comments for this trailer on the official channel were pretty negative. I understand broadly speaking why people are getting into an uproar over it. On one hand, a lot of the recent material has been a mixed bag, but a lot of the hate is also disingenuous and honestly, Star Wars always has been a mixed bag. Sometimes, I just have to stop paying attention when there's a lot of criticism for a show that hasn't even aired. Judge it for how much I enjoy it. I am looking forward to it, but if it sucks, then it sucks and I'll move on with my life. I will say that it did spur me into listening to audio books for the main novels of the High Republic while at work. It's a nice change of pace from the depressing historical literature on Eastern Europe that I've been listening to lately. In any case, I appreciate your guys' positive and open-minded outlook and that's partly why you're my go to for Star Wars reactions.

I don’t see why people are so monumentally pissed over the fact that Ki-Adi-Mundi said that the Sith have been dead for a millennia but there’s a Sith in this show, a mere few hundred years before he said that in TPM. Since this show is a murder mystery and we’re getting heavy direction towards exposing the lies of the Jedi, I think it’s totally plausible that the Jedi tried covering up the events of the acolyte to improve their perceived strength and peace-bringer image. It would make sense to do this since the fall of the Jedi was happening for around 100 years before order 66. The Jedi were growing lazy and arrogant without threat for so long that since the events of acolyte likely shook the Jedi, they wanted to save face and deny it ever happened, boosting galactic relations with them and keeping the republic as a close ally. Also Mundi was known to be a real douchebag so I totally believe that he has no problem with lying to the galaxy. It all makes total sense to me, I think people are just looking for any opportunity they can to crap on it. That’s Star Wars fans for ya.

I think the trailer looks promising. And couldn’t the ”fact” that the Sith haven’t been seen in a 1 000 years be explained with the few Jedi that know covering the whole thing up by the end because the truth is deemed too troubling or dangerous in their mind? Like Aaron I got to watch The Acolyte sneak peak after The Phantom Menace in theaters. I must say I'm hooked. What still baffles me was that I walked out with my brother and he was completely negative about it. He couldn't even give me a proper reasoning behind it beyond whos involved in making it or that it's another live action Disney Plus show. Nothing about what was actually on screen. I was a real buzzkill, so I'm glad I get to watch you guys gush over it.

They fight in that same room in the other previews, then in this one the assassin walks away leaving a lightsaber on the ground as the vo says “a Jedi was murdered.” Either a misdirect or they didn’t have the budget for a season w/ her. Plus they have already bought out an action figure of her . Which would be plain weird if she gets killed in the first episodes. But I guess it’s Disney so who knows .

What are we meant to believe,I watched all three and I almost spewed up. Accolyte Sucked,,it ruined my weekend. I've watched Ewoks battle for endor 50 times and it destroys that. Caravan of courage hundred at least. Whoever oversaw the script actual licks balls , or are ball lickers scissor sisters, can't wait for episode 4. Bunngggg. Star wars mad note.

There is reason for doubt in star wars live action series these days cause the recent shows have not been hitting recently. There is interesting premise here with this show but concern is not unjust. Give it a chance in the beginning, but batting down all opposing views is pretty blasphemous considering the Disney Star Wars track record recently. (Outside of anything animated)
