The reason why when falling off the edge you make no sound it's because the game straight up deletes the character model as it dies, so it disappears without playing the sound objects inside. Go on studio and delete any sound object in the character model and your character dies without making a sound. And the reason why the character gets deleted itself is because the game by default deletes any parts below a certain height threshold, this can be disabled.

Falling off the edge (15:18) This can be caused because the death barrier at the bottom of a map not only kills you, but despawns you as well. This happens to other physics objects in roblox and sometimes other games.

With my limited knowledge of the roblox game engine I can confidently answer the question about falling off the edge (15:18) A common misconception is that when the player is at the "death barrier" (500 studs below the baseplate on default iirc) the player is killed, or their health is set to 0. While in the end the player is killed, the means are different. Parts that end up on the death barrier are destroyed or set to nil. This means the player itself is deleted when reaching the death barrier, explaining the player not breaking apart or death sound playing. Despite this, if you try to delete the player be it by scripts or deleting the player through the explorer in roblox studio, the player doesn't respawn. Therefore my theory is that the player itself is deleted, but the game engine is hard-coded to make the player respawn despite being deleted.

I believe the reason your character disappears and there's no "oof" sound is because when a part goes that low in the void it just gets deleted, including the humanoidRootPart (your torso). When a character loses their rootPart the engine just kills the humanoid, when everything gets deleted, every child of every part also gets deleted, including the "oof" sound instance, resulting in no sound. If I had to guess why you don't make a death sound when you fall of the edge, it's probably because it just straight up deletes you from existence (in a safe way) as if you drop a part into the void, the part stops existing.

I was very active in Sonic Eclipse before, back in probably mid-late 2018 until late 2019. I kind of slowed down because there hadn’t been any progress made on the game, but I can’t deny how obviously racist and ableist the owner was and still is. I don’t know if he still develops for it, but he still owns the discord server. He sometimes messages me since he sees me in another server some of his former devs made, but even though he probably knows my opinion on him turned 180 after the incident, he hasn’t really been a jerk to me.
