lo-fi stands for low fidelity, it is not a genre. "lo-fi study beats" is not the genre its "study beats" which is often ambient or light jazz, that is low fidelity, meaning the music contains: fuzziness, poor recording equipment, audio fluff, etc... Any music can be lo-fi. Black Metal; almost 100% of Black Metal is lo-fi. Ambient music is often lo-fi to add softness. 1920s pop is all lo-fi because their recording equipment isn't great (although at the time it wasnt lo-fi) The list goes on.
