It's a reference to the original 1991 "Addams Family" movie, where Uncle Fester (at first) appeared to be a con man posing as Gomez's long lost brother.

The Addams Family was a series of comics by Charles Addams published in the New Yorker in the 1940's and adapted for television in the 1960's. Featured in the cast were as follows... Carolyn Jones as Morticia. John Astin as Gomez. Jackie Coogan as Uncle Fester. Ted Cassidy as Lurch. Blossom Rock as Grandma. Lisa Loring as Wednesday. Ken Weatherwax as Pugsley. Felix Silla as Cousin Itt. And Thing, also played by Ted Cassidy, though credited as "It-self." Fun fact: Pugsley in the New Yorker comics was originally named Pubert, but changed to Pugsley when adapted for television, because "Pubert" was considered too risqué for the wholesome television and film production codes of that time. However, the name Pubert did become retconned as the name of the infant son in the 1992 film, Addams Family Values.
