To be honest, I don't think of it as another Addams Family movie, because the characters are a lot diffrent than the originals. Wednesday was a goth, but she wasn't so low on energy, she was playful and wanted to involve her family in whatever she did. Morticia wasn't intolerant, especially toward her children. She always welcomed guests and tried to be a good neightbor and part of the community. Pugsley was a little more meeker and polite, but it's probably because Wednesday was the one with ideas and he always played along. Sure, he could cause a lot of chaos, but he usually assisted in his sister's plans. Grandma wasn't so critisizing to Morticia, she was even more on her side than her own sons'. Even Lurch was more enthusiastic character with a lot of interests and passions. Gomez was always proud of his children, he only scolded them, when their actions were upseting other residents or neightbors, but he never forced anything on them. The only one who's the closest to the original is Fester, though he's not even in 1/5 as funny as the Festers we had so far.
