I have viewed COUNTLESS videos on how to tie a jug knot and I was literally losing the will to live. Every single one of them demonstrated the knot so quickly I couldn’t keep up. So I had to rewind each stinkin video so many times, I just gave up. I was so desperate I even searched Google for pre-made knots I could purchase. For anyone looking to do the same, don’t waste your time. But THIS video was a Godsend because you took your time and explained so perfectly all the steps and not once did I need to rewind. Because of this, I can’t wait to subscribe and watch your other videos and LIKE! THANK YOU! UPDATE: I needed a bunch of these knots for all the bottled water I purchase, rather than drink my well water. I buy about 25 at a time. I now have all I need, well more than I need. I got a little carried away making them because I now have 30. THANKS to YOU.

Johnny Debt; great question! My work space is up a long flight of stairs , and my knees are not in the greatest shape. I have a cooler that takes five gallons of water, and makes it ice cold. If the jug knot works, then it saves me many trips up those pesky stairs.

Hello Jonny, thanks for your response. I can tie the jug sling knot now. Thanks - again. I think the slower the better. But I would like to learn more practical knots and also think about a dedactic way of doing so and sharing other insights like mnemonics and so on. But since you are one of my best sources, I will mention you from time zo time. ,,Unfortunately" English is not my mothertongue and we have a lack of certain knot videos in German. So this might be a way of sharing some insights, or transforming information. I think the knots are binding since they are ,,universal".

Actually my English is not bad - I almost understand every word (in a non academic context). You have a clear pronunciation comparing to Americans, you must be British, right? I was born in Ireland and was staying in Australia for a year or so. The most challenging part is probably the different terminology for the knots. I have learned the nomenclature in German first and know about 36 knots now. Unfortunately I couldn´t find a similarly exquisite book as the "Clifford Ashleys" >>book of knots

Wrong. This knot was not used to hold a bottle in water to keep it cool. This was used on unglazed narrow necked vessels which were filled with water. These were then hung where they could swing freely. The water seeped out very slowly and wet the outside of the vessels. The swinging motion helped the water evaporate cooling the contents even in the warmest climates.
