The feeling you described is what I like to call Distantion/The Distance Feeling (feel free to rename it if you have a better name). It is this surreal feeling that I get whenever I see anything going somewhere. Whether I see a car driving past my room window, or an airplane soaring above me in the dark of night, I feel this mix of hiraeth (Look it up) and curiosity. That last part is especially odd seeing as I am an introvert who has a strong dislike for anything that pertains to socializing, but Distantion is just that strong! Every time I feel it I am almost driven to tears. Seeing a car pass by, an airplane overhead or anything else that is covering some distance compels me to follow. I want to learn what brought that person into my life and the overwhelming string of events that caused our paths to cross. In summary, Distantion is a powerful emotion that comes with the viewing of anything spectacular or worldly. This beautiful feeling is, what I believe, the most life-changing experience anyone can go through. It can change their entire world view simply by watching an old 2009 Honda civic drive past. One last thing to add: Please let me know if you have also experienced this. I am genuinely curious, seeing as I haven't heard much about it.

this made me cry honestly... it reminds me of my dad Hes a smoker and he has very bad anger issues it hurts seeing him having to deal with his problems my mom thinks we shouldn't help him she sees him as a bad person and that we shouldn't help him at all its hard having to see him try to be like my dad he tries hard I know he does... I know none of this is his fault... he was neglected as a kid none of this is his fault at all. it just hurts me seeing him go through all of this it hurts me that there's nothing for me to do to help... he gave me and my siblings a very hard time growing up pulling us by the hair making us stay in a room for hours until my mom came home without being able to eat drink water or even use the bathroom, he would hit us a lot too he would hit my younger brother if he started crying. even though Hes done a lot of things to us that doesn't mean he isn't my dad yes, he does many bad things in the past and now Hes trying to make up for it... yes, he still does have bad anger issues and yells a lot but that will never stop me from seeing him as my dad...
