The advantages of the Knew Concepts swivel saw blade clamps

This video demonstrates the advantages of the swiveling blade clamps for jewelers.
The swiveling blade clamps do two things for jewelers:
(A) they let you get much further into a large piece of metal, and
(B) they let you swing the back of the saw frame out of the way, so you don't smack yourself in the face with the saw if using an optivisor.
The Swivel Blade Clamps can rotate the saw blade a full 360°, with click stops every 45°.

would have been worth a thousand words if you showed HOW TO swivel the blade before hand.

You flip the lever so the blade is loose, then press the black and silver parts of the clamps together, and twist. You have to do it with the blade loose, and you have to do one clamp at a time. It won't spin while you're cutting. (Our marquetry saw does that, but the gear to do that is a good chunk of why it's so expensive.) There are click stops every 45 degrees. The Mk3 saws go 45d each way from straight, and the Mk4's go all the way around. So they can go fully sideways.

hi, is there any cons to having a swivel ability, especially for a new piercer/sawer?

HI Lori, No there are no 'cons' to having it, other than cost. The 'pros' depend on what you're doing. If you're a woodworker doing dovetails, you pretty much have to have them. If you're a jeweler, they're more of a 'nice to have' kind of thing. Hope this helps.
