Whoever storyboarded this animation deserves a fuckton of respect. They showed nearly all of TAZ, kept it alien, strange, mysterious, fantastical and unimaginable, only hinted at some of the medium sized plot twists, completely left out the more emotional parts of the story and the Main Plot as to not spoil them.. just, so artistically done. Honest to god, this is one of the main things that got me into TaZ. Years of knowing about it from tumblr fanart, this piece is what has stood out the most, and this is the one thing that's always had me thinking "I'm gonna listen to it some day". The music, the editing, the sheer amount of chaos that make it so intriguing despite not giving away anything, this is the best goddamn trailer ever produced. I've listened to Balance now, finally, and now I love it even more when I can finally recognize the different scenarios. A job well done.
@quinnmarchese63133 жыл бұрын
the fact that griffin just decided to do music a few arcs in takes the series from great to fantastic. plus its all him, with the exception of his plantasia covers and the original mort garson as the intro music. the music is honestly my favorite bit, griffin indeed is a capable storyteller, but his music elevates every moment its in. the hype of the final fight in the suffering arc, the eerie, crystalline sound of the crystal kingdom, the lone guitar strings that soundtrack the epilogue, its all absolutely brilliant.

I showed this to my friends who've never listened to TAZ before, and my favorite part of sharing it was just pointing out all the stuff from 1:29 to 2:11 and every second repeating myself "That actually happens. That actually happens. That actually happens." This trailer makes no bullshit up, every second is accurate to the story events of the podcast. Which, for the weird stuff like a town in a bubble going apeshit for a split second then being fine once again, or the instantaneously understandable and awesome stuff like Garyl, really makes me wonder why my friends haven't listened yet. I showed them this trailer almost 2 months ago, I think. I need to up my salesmanship game.

Do they like DnD, My friend got me to watch "here there be gerblins" to show me what DnD is like, then tricked me into watching every single fuckin' episode I love her so much

My friend showed me this at his house on a whim while I was visiting him during Christmas break. We were both pretty sleepy at the time and it was so bizarre that I had no idea what was going on. I almost didn't start listening to the podcast cuz I'd never been a podcast person, but I convinced myself to give it a chance and MAAAAAAN am I so happy I did! I became legit obsessed with the Balance Arc. I can't listen at work so I BLAZED through all 69 episodes in my evening free time.

Up to 2:15. I saw this video well over a year before starting Balance, which I’m nearing the end of now. My heart dropped as soon as Magnus was given true sight in the Suffering Game and I recognized that final redrobe scene, had to come watch this again immediately

Man after progressing so far into the series certain points in this trailer actually brought a tear to my eye and most of it makes me laugh hysterically every time I watch it. Man I’ve never been so invested into a DNDesque campaign before, the story is so beautifully orchestrated. You guys are an incredible family with literally the coolest dad ever. I can’t pay you guys enough compliments in one comment I’d be hear all day.
