This is so good! This was also the point when I realized that this goofy DnD podcast had a better plot and more iconic imagery than most of the movies I've seen recently. It's so insane to think that Griffin had no background in fiction writing or music before this, its just that Mcelroy creativity

I always imagined the Legion with the shroud pulled down over its eyes... or eye sockets, I guess. It’s a bit of a Dark Souls-ey image, now that I think of it.

No it was the plane of existence where souls of the dead end up in or are hunted down to be retrieved (by people like Kravitz). They'd tapped... wait, no, you're right. The crystal was that crystal that held all the souls that they were going to enlarge again and open up for them to exist without worry.
