I love the theory of MIB Montand! Works perfectly with what we know, especially with several of the French team being Candidates, so he would have to pull the strings to get Danielle to kill them for him.

Wow... that must be my second favourite episode of Lost Journeys (the first being the one on Blast Door Map). * Counter-theory about MiB-Montand - maybe his "disapperance" got something to do with the dynamite? The Monster is clearily sensitive to explosives as we saw in S1 Finale. * The size of the Dark Territory got stretched as much as pre-mid season 4 canon. * So, in Lost Journeys the Purge happened in 1992. Interesting... * Am I reading into this too much or was there a nod to "Losted"? The French team being at the site of the yurt camp? * I guess in S5 finale breakdown we can expect a segment called "The adventures of Bernard & Rose". Or does it need another special episode?

I was very happy with how this episode turned out in the end, so I am glad to hear it resonates well. - Great counter-theory about MIB Montand! - I try to avoid The Purge since it's so much up to debate amongst the viewers. I feel like the events here could fit into either. For instance, the french team being near the pala ferry dock could suggest the purge being in 1987 or it could be that the purge was in 1992, and the french team didn't encounter any DHARMA members. Or if Danielle ventured to the Arrow, then that could very well have happened in the late 90's. Or with the radio tower. Did DHARMA potentially cut down on the amount of recruits and didn't supervise the radio tower in the years prior to the Purge. - No, not a nod to Losted - There will not be a special episode for Rose & Bernard, but their trek will be addressed in the season 5 finale breakdown.

Even if Danielle had met Jin in mid-November 1988, there was another six weeks for Alex to be born in 1988. And Seasons One to Four of "Lost" had occurred between September and December 2004. Plenty of time for Alex to turn 16 years old. And I doubt that Ben knew Alex's exact birth date.

love this! thank you! I wonder how accurate Sayid's calculation on the age of the distress call could be. If there are so many different recordings, they're all going to be of different length.

Yeah, I think there is technically a mistake here, but I think that from the writing of the show we're just gonna read that Sayid thinks it's 30 seconds, he is good at math, he calculates to 16 years and that's what they go by later.

I 100% agree that Rousseau believes they pulled Montand from the hole, but that it was actually MIB. Regarding whether Rousseau's Montand was a candidate (and whether he could be killed by the monster)... Perhaps the candidate "Montand" refers to another character... A character of French origin whose surname/backstory we never learned... As for why Danielle's distress call wasn't shut off by the Others and/or DHARMA (assuming they were still around for four years after she changed the transmission, as I believe they were)... The Looking Glass was controlling the transmissions off the island, which included blocking the radio tower transmission. Juliet even says this in Greatest Hits when they first discuss the Looking Glass station.

Since Smoky can scan minds, I think he never intended to kill Danielle and, from the beginning, everything he did with her and her team served the additional purpose (beyond killing candidates) of driving her crazy so she'd be the perfect tool for the future. He seems to do something similar with Claire later.

Unrealted, but have you ever noticed/mentioned that Others only ever have 3 vessels (the galaga, desmonds boat, and the boat michael leaves in). Isnt thay weird or am I misremembering.

They also have one gigantic boat we saw only once. In "Stranger in a Strange Land", when all of the Others are travelling from Hydra island to the main island. We see it in the distance. So they have that one too. I think that all of those, with the exception of Desmond's sailboat, are remnants from the DHARMA Initiative.

Damn so Danielles group were candidates, and they tried to figure out what the numbers were..so wasnt Hurley. So both the french team and the plane crash survivors both had a chance to find the hatch amd remove dezmond from it to get the correct time line moving. But because the man in black intervened their time line never became the correct one. Thats why locke jack and hurley found it later, and their time line became the right one to save the island. Jacob and the island brought lots of ppl their and they all had the opportunity to be the savior of the island
