I have seen a couple of these interviews with these two already. Olivia interviewing Helena for these topics must be difficult for both - imagine being asked the questions (i.e. Graham Norton re: medium) and then having Olivia ask Helena the very same question. Press day is tough.

Not enough Tobias Menzies as the Duke of Edinburgh this season even though he had the dialect and manuerisms spot on. Erin Doherty as Princess Anne is spot on from the hair to the clothes, from the way she walks to the way she talks. It's surreal actually just how spot on the acting is. Olivia Coleman as the Queen still needs a lot of work to get the dialect right because at times I thought the words were rushed like a steam roller on tarmac. She needs to slow down and get every punctation right. With the Queen she has to have the ability to communicate properly, something I felt Olivia struggled in doing. Kudos to the hair and makeup, The Queen is a lot more identical this season. Other seasons, the hair had too much of a flicked back, but the makeup was spot too for both Olivia and Claire. There was something "Absolutely Fabulous" about Princess Margaret this season, too much goofiness I suppose compared to Vanessa's elegant portrayal. Vanessa had the finesse of the character whilst Helen has the whole comedic element going on. Not sure if the two Margaret personna's go together quite well. Don't forget this series has got to be seamless with an emphasis on continuity so the character can change a liitle, but not to the point where it almost becomes two Margaret's the viewer is watching. The moon landing episode where the royals go 'goo-ga' over Neil Armstrong was hard to watch because most of it was fabricated to the point of being unrealistic. However I like how the writers of The Crown glossed over the Silver Jubilee even though it was at a time where the Queen felt people were bored of the monarchy but the Jubille was widely celebrated with every street in the UK being filled with buttins and street parties galore. The Queens Silver Jubilee was more celebrated than the moon landings in the UK. I also noticed there was hardly any reference the EEC (EU) or the UK joining of it. The writers probably felt it would cause too much controversy to mention EU.
