if you push the die back far enough you can get the pipe in no problem. I only had mine for 2 hours before I figured that out. Adding a strong enough return spring or a making a position lock to hold the ram all the way up is all you need. A few add ons to this tool and its awesome.

Is that bolt Grade 8? And do you think its still a good buy or do you suggest to spend a little more on a different bender?

That's a grade 8 bolt. It's a good buy for small personal projects. If you are planning to do full scale multiple projects, buy a better one.

I would ta grinder, and where you bolt head hits the fram, just gind and 1/8 inch off. That should not weaken the frame in any way

I wonder if you can drill that hole out and put a steel sleeve in there then use a pin?

You can I did my buddies like that he was going to throw his dies away and get new ones! We drilled them out put steel sleeves in made them press and fit! 3 years now die isn't wobbled out and bolt is not Bent either

i rally like these have seen several reviews but for the price not worth it. some scrap metal ,a small jack the real cost is the actually tube bending die. good review sorta makes me want to wait on buying one.

It sure looks like a non shouldered bolt was used for the pipe support . That hole has thread marks in it . It used to be smooth inside . Now it looks threaded . A non shouldered bolt will hollow it out like a file. User error it seems . Mine never did that. Besides that , that support should never be removed. Pull the die back far enough and it will break loose .

up grade it, there is more meat, I would modify and upgrade it. I would assume you have all the tools for cutting and welding. thumbs up for the user feed back. cheers.
