Cop is Trigger Happy I know someone that was Charged with a Felony for Defending himself and did not shoot a weapon and had a CPL license. Bad Cop misjudgment should be charged with a Felony, lose job and go to Jail.

Before you all start spitting out all this shit towards the cop ! , the guy in the car notified the cop he had a gun , now , the cop got suspicious obviously and didn't know what he was gonna reach for , just because he " said he was going to reach for his wallet doesn't mean he really is going to , you can here the cries of this officer he didn't want to shoot the guy but he basically had no choice , anyone would rather shoot someone than get shot their self and also hear the calmness in the woman's voice , now I'm not one to judge but I wouldn't be calm af if a cop shot me for no reason !! ( not saying he was reaching for the gun ) ( in defence of the officer ! )

But there are so many other ways to solve such an event... Let the guy, for example, step outside the car with his hands showing and frisk him. Then ask for ID. Simple.

For me it looks like he's got a sudden realisation of the event. If I would have been the police officer, then I too would freak out if i realised that I potentially killed someone even if it's in self defence. Regardless if he did it in self-defence out of fear or lack of judement, it's a sad incident which will only flame the ever so active racism and black vs police debates.

I'm sorry, but this is part of the problem. Your boyfriend just got shot, and your first thought is to make a youtube video about it - while the cop is still pointing a gun at you. What's wrong with you? To the shooting itself, he told the cop he had a gun while he was reaching for his ID - so the cop thought he was reaching for his gun - lesson = don't tell the cop you have a gun while you're reaching your hands out of sight.

I have a concealed carry license in California - an aggressively anti-gun state. You don't tell the cop you have a gun while you reach your hands out of view - that's 100% stupid. When the cop asks for your ID, you tell him that you have a firearm on your person and ask how he would like to proceed. Sometimes they ask you to hand them the gun and they leave it on the hood, sometimes they tell you they don't care. People need to be smarter about their interactions with the police and the flippant attitude people have to police authority is half of the problem.

dustinb42 Concealed carry is different from open carry. The officer knew he had a gun, and ALSO knew that there were open carry laws; so he shoudn't have shot him after telling him to reach for his license. "Officer, I have a firearm on me, is that okay?" "Yes, it does not violate the laws. Please get out your license." *reaches for license* "Gasp! He's reaching for his gun! I should shoot him!"

His weapon wasn't visible, so the situation is no different from a concealed carry. Whether or not there are open carry laws isn't relevant. If I tell the cop that I have a gun while I'm reaching for my license, he's going to react badly. You clear it up in the beginning.
