I remember about a decade ago I was singing this exact song in the middle of Target while shopping. The looks I got were priceless haha. But it's been a song I would sing to release some frustration. Beautiful lol Thank y'all for covering this one!

Thrash metal is actually pretty melodic. This is death / metalcore / deathcore, but the song itself is pretty unique. This is one of my favourite songs from the Agonist. The energy and vocals are just insane.

You need to react to some of the best french metal bands out there. Not the one who song in english, but good ol' french language. I would suggest you The 2 version of "Majesty" from the band called "sortilege". The main one is the French one called "Majesté" and they did an english one "Majesty" would help you a lot for translation and comprehension !

Alyssa was one of the founders of the band. She spent several years with the band before she was later invited to join Arch Enemy after Angela Gossow retired. She had planned to exist in both bands simultaneously, and had arranged her schedule to meet the demands of both bands. The other members of The Agonist did not agree that she could do it though, so they hired another vocalist without first informing her. It was a very ugly incident and one she still has not forgiven them for. Her pig squeals are unearthly. Unfortunately, with Arch Enemy she no longer does cleans. However, she has recently said in interviews that she wants to change that.

She uses cleans in one song in Arch Enemy. "Reason To Believe"

It's why The Agonist is dead to me now, I got no time for dirty betrayers. Encourage her to her face and then plan to boot her out while she's not looking.
@sabrinateixeira7623 жыл бұрын
@@LuvtheJEm I’m sorry but she kept the band in the dark and didn’t say anything to her band, and didn’t even said who she joined. She wanted them to cancel their European tour so she can tour with AE! There’s always two sides in the story so stop making Alissa look like an angel, and especially how she badly treated the guys throughout the years.
@rofyle3 жыл бұрын
@@sabrinateixeira762 Nonsense. What you wrote doesn't even make a lick of sense. Why on earth would they have even fired her if she hadn't informed them and they were kept in the dark? They were in the dark, right? Which means they wouldn't have known anything, and therefore would have had no reason to fire her. Er-duuuhhh.
@Sayuku_P10 ай бұрын
@@rofyleShe kept them in the dark about what band it was, they knew she was invited into another band, not which one though. Alissa back in the day was very...uh...special to work with...? She had a clearly vision of what she wanted, and if the result wasn't exactly what she wanted, she would make it known, sometimes in a very mean way, at least, according to her old bandmates and overall people she worked with in the past.
@neils1233 жыл бұрын
Not to take anything away from Alyssa - she's a great vocalist - but it would be well worth your time to check out some of The Agonist's newer stuff. Vicky Psarakis, their new vocalist, has really developed and is now just as good IMO, and the band as a whole has become more sophisticated and interesting in their songwriting I think. They just released a new single last week called "Remnants in Time" that I would definitely suggest reacting to.

Deathcore. It's hardcore with death metal clothing on. Or metalcore, hardcore with metal clothing on. Hardcore being hardcore punk, so drawing stylistically from the songwriting structure of bands like Sick Of It All. Dillinger Escape Plan and a bunch of other bands at the late 90s threw jazz weirdness into the mix and played fucking heavy and thus 'metalcore' was born. Then it kinda took over from nu-metal (grunge in metal clothing) as the edgy metal stuff to put on a film soundtrack and thus the genre was watered down to point of today's utter blandness, with only occasional 45 seconds worth listening to of decent songwriting. Yakuza, Himsa, E-town concrete, Stampin Ground and Earth Crisis charted all of this in the the 90s. As genres go it manages to outdo death metal for repitition. At least death metal bands usually write a few cool riffs an album.

@@KytexEdits I guess she wanted to be in Arch Enemy, and Arch Enemy does not work with clean vocals. She is kind of "the newbie" in this band and seems totally OK with this. If she wants to do clean stuff, I am sure she does it, probably in a side project.
