Much Respect, Sir. I hear in your voice and see in your eyes the reflections of a pilot that is operating daily in an area of aviation physics that has the rest of us aviators on the first memory items of a checklist! Watching you breathe over the top field of flowers is awe inspiring to anyone that has ever had the privilege of of flying as a guest in the sky.

Yorkton Aircraft hi, I commented on a video of yours this evening using my online handle: Willy Makit. It’s an old old pilot joke. Thanks for responding so quickly. I started in ag years ago loading, flagging, and ferrying ag planes. I wound up flying freight in jets before the attacks on 911. My company lost its contract and I fell into teaching. I’ve gotten back into flying and am looking for a seat during the 2020 season spraying or ferrying when my current contract finishes. I’ve ferried ag planes for a couple of companies before, and it was some of the most fun flying I’ve done. I would like to hear from you. Blue skies.

Daddy always loves the thrush 600 to turbine . Turbine was his favorite cause he climbed straight and turn so hard . Air tractor can never out do the thrush .

The Thrush 550 & 710 have the same U/C spring gear setup as the AT . Does this make any difference to the handling compared to the tripod ?

Thrush are built 100 miles away from my home in Ga. Didn't the same guy design and build both aircraft. His last name was Snow?

I've met dozens of pilots who got into AG, got a health condition from the chemicals then lost their medicals and employment. The AG companies don't care if you lose your license or die from the chemicals your exposed to. I had 6,000 hours and ten years just to lose it when I started AG flying.

@@tailwheelflier I was over exposed to parathion and had several seizures. Haven't had any more since moving away from that job. I was trying to get into the industry so I was volunteering to pay my dues and get experience. The AG company owner calls me every year to remind me that I never worked for him and that he wasn't at fault for anything that happened to me, I remind him I'm poor and can't afford a lawyer anyways. I take comfort in the fact that his sons a heroin addict, his wife and other employees hate him, and he took the aerial spray company he inherited with seven airports and 50 planes and 100 employees and reduced it to one plane and three employees and still can barely keep that afloat.

@@ergot57 I grew up in Maine but lived all over the US. Most people are pretty decent here, no matter where they lived. It seems because most people think becoming rich is "success" they don't have aproblem with a for profit food industry and medical industry. Unfortunately that leads to degraded food quality and hack doctors that will do anything to pay off their medical school debt. If we stopped thinking of working class people as stupid, paid them livable wages and got out of this debt fueled, lawyer run financial system, then perhaps we could get somewhere. Untill then the food industry will keep making money producing food that make us sick and the medical industry will make money from long drawn out illnesses caused by poor food. It's sad the way the world's become. I love poor Americans though, they seem to know what's going on and don't lie to themselves just to make a buck. The costal elites make me almost as sick as their shitty companies food products. I feel bad for the farmers because they got conned into leveraging their land to buy better equipment and now can barely keep up with the payments while working harder than ever.

My english is really bad but I want to know if I heard you saying that you flew in Quebec over st-Laurence river? if I understood you moved in Australia for crop dusting because of the opportunity to build turbine hours. If that's the case in you are aware of canadian jobs here just tell me please. Thank you and I should tell you too that you are a model for me because I really want to do the switch and give a try flying aircraft like that but it's just a simple question of fear to not be able to find some jobs after investing into that. I'm 40 years old also and I don't know if I'm stupid to do that so late like that.

Hello Patrice....let me in into this question with my personal view. I moved to AG aviation at 46 years old. Now I´m moving from Brazil to Europe at 53 y.o. As you can see, there is no "too old" around the forties...That is not Fighter jet squadron or Lufthansa Airliner...It´s a Crop Piloting. It´s not piece of cake but it´s possible if you really want to and have the skills. Au revoir!

Wrong on airtractor takeoff, I let the tail start skipping and add flaps, flys right off, quickly. 802
@finneganfly
@finneganfly 3 жыл бұрын
I always get a chuckle when people make definitive comments (you know - my way is the only way). The 802 will takeoff just fine if you start the roll with one notch of flap, coax the tail up gradually and fly it off. Personally, I don’t like to change configuration during the takeoff roll, but that’s just me. I fly an 802 off a 30’ wide strip at typically 5000’+ density altitude, so the fewer changes that happen during takeoff, the better - more time to concentrate on directional control. Then again, I’ve only got 15,000 hrs, so there’s lots to learn and always a better way. I can’t comment on the turbine Thrush - I’ve never flown one - but I did fly an S2R for a season way back when, and I was surprised at how much I liked it. Different wing, of course. It’s hard to beat an 802, though, if you ferry a lot.
