And generally speaking, Al being Subaru is hard to believe simply for the fact that he has no apparent feelings for Emilia and is sticking with Priscilla, her exact antipode. So what is the over/under on the Fake-Vincent turning out NOT to be Chisha Gold, and in fact is actually Capella Emeralda Lagunica. Vincent hadn't been on the run for that long when Subaru showed up, only a few weeks at most. But several months passed between the end of Arc 5 and the beginning of Arc 7. It is entirely possible we get a scene in which Al or Subaru manage to injure the Fake-Vincent and then notice he has black blood.

some interesting infos: the star named Aldebaran has its name from the Arabic ---> al Dabarān ("الدبران"), meaning "the follower", because it seems to follow the Pleiades. its also the brightest star in his constellation. The Pleiades, also known as The Seven Sisters, is a star cluster which represent in the story the 7 witches of sin and the 7 floors of the tower in arc6. So Aldebaran is litterally "the person who follows a witch". Both in theme and etimology. Subaru is the name of the Pleiades star cluster, which is the modern name for it. Subaru means litterally "to gather together" hinting at subaru good point of befriending many people and bring them to his side as well as his ability to pick up witch genes in the story. We have a parallelism from "Al follows a witch" to "Al follows Subaru" here. Finally there are only 9 brigthest stars into the Pleiades star cluster, which represents the 7witches of sin, pandora and Hector in the story.

My best guess regarding the connection between the isekaiers is that they're all different "iterations" of Subaru. They all started out as the Subaru outside the convenience store, but they were just summoned to different times and places, and as a result, became vastly different people. So, for instance, Flugel would likely be the first iteration, summoned over 400 years ago, who Satella fell in love with, and whever events transpired 400 years ago, it led her to summon more iterations of Subaru to come and kill her. We know Satella lacks common sense, so it's possible her love for Subaru - That is, our Subaru - is just her love for Flugel that she's projecting onto him. My favorite part about that theory is that, if it were true, it'd create an amazing parallel between Emilia and Subaru; Emilia is hated for her resemblance to Satella (While the two of them do probably have a connection, they're still different people), Subaru is loved for his resemblance to Flugel, who, again, he's different from, despite sharing a connection.

I was asserting that, for all we know, the guy we know as Subaru was never called by that name on Earth. That he is spawning into the Re:Zero world with different star names like Subaru or Aldebaran. On Earth, maybe he was Haruto Natsuki, for example. Maybe he spawned in originally 400+ years ago, some bullshit happened to Satella, they couldn't fix it, so they took some extreme measures, involving Subaru being taken from an earlier point on Earth and spreading him around with different spawn points throughout history. If that is the case, which I am NOT saying it is (just that it could be), then I'd also add that the witch factors probably contain the parts to make "Subaru" whole again. I would also guess, this something along these lines ends up being the truth, then the original "Subaru" is probably quite the piece of shit. Emilia would be just a clone body for Satella. All the clones of "Subaru" would just be dudes they hoped would collect the witch factors. Satella asking to be killed would be her trying to do the right thing and just die instead of taking over Emilia. The Witch's Cult would have been largely acting on the wishes of the Witch Factor they hold, meaning "Subaru" created the damn enemy, at least largely. I don't know how Pandora would fit into all of this, but my guess with Pandora has always been that she is some beezy who is angry over Flugel loving Satella over her. Again, of course I don't believe any of this. Just that it is possible. If there is an original Subaru (Flugel) who originally spawned into Re:Zero world in the past and the whole story is caused by a shitbag thing he did to try save Satella, I don't think that our Subaru will become that person.

It's like the theory with Satella being Emilia or Subaru being Flugel for me. It doesn't work when you compare it to the IF stories, making the entire existence of these "future characters" should be rejected as a result of having these divergent timelines be theoretically possible (Though not canon). It's a Time Paradox. I'd rather take a step back and understand who Al's "Sensei" that he mentioned (After saving a younger Arakiya from Hornet) actually was before also understanding things like his knowledge of Ram's existence and his different ability (Probably an Authority) from Subaru's, which makes no sense to have changed if Al is Subaru when other versions of Subaru have kept the same power.

Al is definitely connected to Subaru, but he is also definitely not Subaru himself. - Subaru would never love Priscilla for starters. - Al has a return by like death Authority but that's all, if he's a future version of Subaru how come he never uses the Greed or Sloth Authorities? Subaru would not only need to travel back in time but also have lost the Authorites in the first place. - Also Al has no emotional reaction to Emilia or really anyone from Emilia camp (except Rem which was not a positive one). - Not to mention why the f*** would Subaru go around calling himself Al instead of Aldebran if Aldebran was already an alias? Yeah, this is my current theory as well. I actually wonder if each iteration of Subaru was summoned to kill Satella, but gave into a different Sin that prevented them from completing their task. So, for instance, Flugel would be Pride, which is considered to be the original sin, so whatever he did was likely the inciting incident of the whole thing. This led Satella to summon another iteration, Hoshin, who gave into Sloth (Or maybe Greed?), using his otherworldly knowledge to found a country and live the sterotypical isekai life. The only part I'm uncertain on is what "sin" Al would be. Wrath, maybe? If that were the case, each "iteration" of Subaru would have a connection to their sins' respective IF stories; Flugel and Pridebaru are both connected to the Witch's Cult, Hoshin and Slothbaru are both connected to Kararagi (Or Echidna, if Hoshin is Greed), and Al and Wrathbaru share an antagonistic relationship with Ram.

Hoshin is Greed and it's quite interesting that Subaru in one of the if stories basically does the same thing as Hoshin which is bring inventions from his world to the re:Zero world. Al is Pride, he chooses not to be the follower of Subaru which is the correct path to the end goal of killing Satella, this is the easiest path for our Subaru to fall off on imo since he won't want to kill someone, we'll see how he deals with death in Arc 7.

my personal thought in the matter is that subaru past memories are different from the one he should have and satella/envy forced those memories on him (flugel memories perhaps). this is slightly hinted from arc6 where those memories arent eaten by the authority of glottony which could happen if the memory istn related to that person but magically attached to him somehow. and the same thing is true for Al. so its because of the common basis of knowledge, people, facts and thoughts that this two had come up with the same line. and satella is strongly implied (if the previous statements are true) to be the culprit here.

I think Aldebaran is Kenichi Natsuki who somehow found a way to follow Subaru into the re :zero world, but also somehow lost his memories along the way. (likely by facing off against one of the gluttony brothers in the gladiator arena, who would naturally be there collecting the fighting abilities of high-ranked fighters) -Many re: zero characters are named after celestial bodies, particularly members of the which-cult and isekai'd characters. Aldebaran is Arabic for "follower" and follows the Pleiades constellation. (Subaru is Japanese for the Pleiades, hence why the car manufacturer logo has 7 stars) -They're both jacked like bodybuilders, both have black hair, have similar personalities and sense of humor. -The leaked concept art w/ face for Al could deff be Kenichi with long hair/scars/facial hair. -Kenichi could harbor feelings of shame/guilt about being unable to protect his son, which could materialize as the inability to keep down mayo (even after losing his memory). -A grieving father would naturally spend time around the last known location of his missing child (especially after 18 months, which is around the time the cops would declare Subaru's disappearance a cold case), and his despair could have triggered the "summoning" similar to how Subaru's desire to learn "why" triggered the 2nd and 3rd witches tea party. -If Satella does truly love Subaru, its unlikely that she wouldn't try to reunite him with his grieving dad and keep him alive via granting of an authority. - This would make for an absolute tear-jerker of a chapter, and is exactly the kind of stunt that Tappie loves to pull. The only hiccup in this theory I can think of is that Kenichi is depicted as slightly taller than Subaru. However this could explained by something like different shoe style, or the fact that many people will gradually lose an inch or two as they age, (Al has been in re:zero for 18 years, and if he was in his early thirties the day that Subaru left, would be in his late forties now) Another thing to consider is that Kenichi is only depicted in Subaru's flashbacks, and Subaru had an inferiority complex to his dad, so he may remember him as literally "larger than life"

I am still waiting for Roswaals NAMED chapter. Al knows more than he lets on. He knows something about Subaru that runs deeper than being Japan bros. Al has a witch factor that adapted to his desire to survive in the gladiator arena. Al fears death when his "territory" is run down. Subaru has a witch factor (?) which adapted to his desire to save Satella in the loot house. So... they both have authorities that activated on death after being transported. I would say no. There is a lot of evidence suggesting that Al is not Subaru. 1. Al has never revealed the ability to cross-dressing, or disguise. This is one of the most powerful ability that the author said Subaru has. 2. The core of Subaru's problem lies in the "hero". There is no clear evidence that Al has similar thoughts. in contrast, the two have very different thoughts on them, so I can't see why Al and Subaru must be the same character. 3. Al and Subaru have different magic attributes, and the RBD operation of the two is not the same. If Al is the future Subaru, it can’t explain why he didn’t use IP and Lion’s heart. 4. It’s sloppy to equate the two because Al’s way of speaking is similar to that of Subaru. In agneau if, Subaru's words and deeds are like Al (or at least dressed up), but this is not proof that Al is Subaru. If you remove the whole story and look at it after Subaru uses RBD, from an outsider’s point of view, Subaru is like Al to deduce that Al is Subaru, But this does not take into account that characters who can use RBD can learn other information from the invisible timeline. Al has RBD, and Aldebaran is a star that "follows" Subaru. Why can't Al imitate Subaru's way of speaking? If the context provided by a plot twist cannot give a different performance to the previous plot, it is just a bad twist. And as far as I see it, "Al is Subaru" plot twist is bad.

This would honestly be such a waste of Al as a character to just reveal later on he's a different version of Subaru; because if there are multiple Subaru, then what makes our Subaru so special to Satella? There being multiple of him ruins the entire point of her loving this one Subaru in particular. If they want Al to be in any way related to Subaru, have him be his Dad who was transported to the same world at an earlier point in time with something affecting his memory, or a curse similar to Subaru's own which prevents him from speaking about it.

Personally I like to believe subaru is sortof a clone/fragment of flugel. Same for Al. That also explains why witch of greed spent so many time on developing clones, spirits. And Reid's clone is also in the story. So there might be a connection too.

I don’t think Al is Subaru for the simple fact that Pricilla definitely would have noticed they are similar in appearance. I think dismissing the fact that Pricilla has seen both Al and Subaru’s faces and wouldn’t call attention to them looking similar because she’s too self absorbed requires too much suspension of disbelief. It’s more likely that Al and Subaru are in some way tied to the witch of envy which is why Garfiel noticed they have a similar sent. As for why Al has is face covered, I think it’s reasonable to assume it’s a character that we’ve already seen in the story, but it can’t be Subaru and it would have to be someone who Pricilla hasn’t met since she would be one of the few people who has seen Al’s face.

let assume for a moment that this theory is correct, and then analise only the information we can assume to reach the point where 2 subaru can exist in the same time in 2 different places. now: 0) for al to exist, he must have been summoned to vollachia 1) if subaru was sommoned in vollachia and not lugunica --> then he would have tried to do what he did in lugunica, but it would have gone differently. not enough allies, madness advancing, fear and so on. but this time its unlikely he would find kind people to help him. so sooner or later he would have reached a point where he survives but cannot save everything. so, lets say he lose an arm. 2) he goes on, befriends people, but stay still stuck in that place. at a certain point in time he was heartbroken due to the loss of someone who he consider his guiding light (the emilia of the vollachian empire- same role). he did all he could but just like with the white whale fight his rbd didnt help him and so he broke. and gave up on "following a star" as Al says. 3) he changes his name, since remebering things like "i will be a hero. no one has to die. i will save everyone" and such makes him terribly heartbroken. 4) he met satella even here, she asked him to kill her and he, this time, agree. he went to the shadow garden but wasnt able to kill her. so she let him go keeping rbd for herself. 5) even withouth rbd something similar remained (far less powerful, various rules and drawbacks). realization that satella was making his life oddly easier using that instead of his reset ability which exist since he comes from beyond the great waterfall and therefore cannot reach od lagna. 6) -second point of view- usual subaru - usual story - usual outcomes - but satella remarks about him taking her hand and such (arc4) are now linked to Al behaviour in vollachia years ago. satella knows thats the same person 7) around the arc 9 or 10 subaru fights Pandora, but cannot beat her, the second time when she realized he knew things in advance she use her authority on him and rewrites his past 8) this leads to point 1 - subaru is now not summoned in lugunica but summoned in Vollachia. the entire story changes just like that. 9) but then we see subaru and al in the main story so... subaru must have resisted to an extent the reset ability of pandora. 10) so we have subaru & al, fighting the same enemy, with al doing what he do to avoid subaru to end like him, helping him in fact reaching the answer and defeat her (story and sadness of him explored) 11) probably when he win al and all he did until then will re erased but subaru will remember it. what do you guys think about this? its very long, sorry.

There was a line "Subaru, do you want brother or sister?" from his PAST TRIAL dad in arc 4 17 chapter, but he latter claimed what that was a joke. This scene is more for denying the possobilities of him having brother or sister then confirming it. But it realy something parrents ask in such occasions. Deffinetly would like to AL beeing the Subaru brother rather then his alternative self. That could be important for Subaru emotional uplift. Like the time when Rem said "You are my hero", or Otto "You are my friend" stuff. "You are not alone, to this world becose i am here" moment will be spoiled if AL is something like artificial twin brother broght by magic. But ether way that could work out too, waiting for such moment in arc 7 with open mind.

Even if Al is alternative Subaru they still, by beeng twins(clones), are brothers in some sence. That makes me think that is very likly to happend, but it dreads my to think what Subaru is going to realy kill Al. Tha emotional drown from it will be hard to contourbalance with something possitive. The fact what Al spend half of his life in the other world to become a "Following star", while meeting Subaru, who he suppose to follow only recently is already a sad thing.
