Yeah, “Brick” is kind of a heavy song. I feel like this album does a good job musically mixing in different perspectives on relationships. A multiple personalities sort of theme. Checkin’ out Of Montreal.

@@plasticsoundwavecult Lines like “…for the moment we’re alone / and she’s alone / and I’m alone / and now I know it” just rip my guts out. Between silly, irreverent songs and these devastating character studies, nobody does it quite like Ben Folds.

Do you mean bandnames that suggest constellations that are actually not the case? Ben Folds Five are a trio; of Montreal are basically a one-man project with changing musicians and not from Montreal?!

@@murdockreviews Yes. I’m glad you got it, because while Ben Folds Five is clearly a misnomer, I worried of Montreal might be a sticking point on the conceit of band names. Am I surprised the Rolling Stones aren’t actual rocks, or that the Killers aren’t a pack of murderers, or even that the band Texas is from Scotland? Well, no, but I feel like the inclusion of ‘of’ in the band name really suggests they are from Montreal, when they’re not. Anyway, you got it! Cheers.
