Genotype walked so alien rogue incursion could walk

Bryan please keep up the score system of 0-10 I know it's not perfect, but it works really good! And you are the reviewer I trust the most ! If there was no score, I don't think I would ever watch the reviews. Ohh and as always - mad respect for your talent and hard work 👏

I have no qualms with Bryan's reviews. Like Wes said, I mostly go by his impressions and +/- at the end. The number is a small part of it, but it's nice to know where it lands on HIS scale.

I didn't know the CruCast was no longer a thing, last I heard it was on hiatus. Loved that show, it introduced me to a lot of VR personalities - Skeeva, Eric, Bradley. Was always hoping to see the Without Parole team jump on for a show or two, but schedules and timezones :- / Regarding game review scores, I've always liked Bryan's philosophy: find a reviewer that shares your taste. I know I can trust all you guys when it comes to VR, and I know to avoid IGN like its the plague. By the same token, as a racing fan also, I know I can trust IGN's Luke Reilly for racing games. Hope you can take it easy over the Xmas and New Year period. You're looking healthy Mr Paul; a smart shirt and tie and you're almost the spitting image of 2018 Bryan at the small white desk! :-3

I can't wait to play the alien game. I don't buy or play big games like this until I finish 3 three-story games I have in my library, finished Wizards Dark Times, this week and loved it, just have to finish Hubris and Resident Evil 4 now. It pushes me to get the most out of my games and helps with all the unfinished games I have got. Thanks for the show, 10 out of 10

Alien just needs an outdoor environment or a spacewalk, just like Metro needs a few outdoor levels to help free the mind from the tight rooms & halls. Listen up Devs always give a grand open vista area even if its blocked off by cliff you can run along side of, the mind just needs an open vista so it dosnt get cramped in the whole time your playing. :)

Good point, Pools would have fit in my viewer takeover question. But I listed the games people mention when they say "oh I wish this game had the graphics level of ". They don't understand the limitations, or they joined the VR party one generation too early.

Those Subside and shipwreck discussions reminds me I loved Titanic VR in spite of its limited design and budget.

A deeper gameplay loop but a less immersive experience doesn't necessarily mean another game is less good or better because it has a more shallow game play loop but a more immersive experience and vice versa. It's the overall quality of the visuals and the game play itself that averages out the overall quality of the experience. There's no way to objectively keep track of all that so we have to react emotionally to it. That's not to say emotions are invalid because they are based on feelings and feeling are real and rarely do they match other people's feelings precisely. It's best to just accept that fact.

The only way that hand tracking would truly be great is if it were used with some kind of thin glove that had haptics and some kind of futuristic thin skeletal frame that molded into different forms. So holding a gun, the glove would lock into a position that made it feel like you were holding a gun. Or holdinh any other weapon, shaking someones' hand etc. But something like that seems decades away.

Talking about the leaps in technology, when Wess mentioned the jumps from 720p to 1080. And then later to 4k... I am one of the people who just cannot see the difference between 1080 and 4k. Like OLED and HDR are way more important for me than 4k. Whenever I watch something in 4k I feel like this is the shit. But then I try to watch the same thing on my 1080p television, and I cannot see the difference :p
@supernintendochalmers6628Сағат бұрын
Can we start a petition for backwards compatibility now that hand tracking is on the way? And have you done Blair Witch for 'why isn't this on psvr2 yet'? I loved the atmosphere of that game!

The reason Alien doesn’t run more efficiently is simple…Unreal Engine 5.

@Bryan - am just listening to the gamecast and listening to the bit about the visual issues you experienced. Have you tried it after the patch? I just had a quick go, literally still at the beginning trying to find a keycard.....and I am floored by how good it looks?!?!? I did not notice the "bleeding edges" issue you referred to, but I guess was not looking for it. One trick I do use to make a game like this more atmospheric - I go into the VR quick settings menu and turn the headset brightness right down (like at zero end of the sliding bar). It is such a pity they went for full on action vibe.....just going around the empty hallways with that creepy music playing and having occasional encounters balanced with all out kill-fest moments - sounds like that would have elevated the game no end. I hope this is why they made this a part 1. Listen to the feedback and incorporate into the next part. (Oh, am playing on ps5 pro. i know there are no listed enhancements but i wonder if it just makes any difference at all or not, like I noticed that your character does cast a semi decent shadow, which i would assume is present on the base console?).

54:00 yeah no kidding. Even my comment on someone else's review was me just agreeing that it looked good... didnt even mention any comparison and someone sent me a huge essay about how bad the fresnel lenses are and that that is the sole cause of more blurred lines etc.. I just responded "happy for you" cause they clearly have the superior pancake lenses that have definitely been the only viable way to do VR for the past decade. (Sarcasm) Weird stuff. Cant they just enjoy their games and ignore the ones they dont?

I think buy, wait for a sale, don’t touch is a great way to review its straight to the point and You have 3 choices scores to pick from Rather than a 100 choices you currently have with the 1-10 system either way you’re reviews i hardly disagree with if at all

No one knows yet what "the parts" mean in Alien yet. I would buy 5 parts, if they were like $15 for 5 hours each part. Fly ships & go down to another planet, part2, ..space walk a huge spaceStation part3, lol ..find the Mars cydonia base part4 ..go to an Alien home world, with a Giger like artstyle that is half underwater like Subside VR, part5 :) lol, Can ya tell i love aliens as monsters in movies or games.

I thought that when I first got PSVR2. I had zero interest in flat during my VR honeymoon. But over time, I've realised sometimes I don't want to be fully immersed. Sometimes, I just want to kick back and play on a big flat screen, which is much sharper and just less effort to play. Astrobot and Hogwarts have both dragged me back to flat for periods, on top of Returnal that always drags me back. I'm at a good stage where I play a mix now. I'm spending way too much though and my backlog is terrifying.

@MattyFreedom for sure there are still flat games I like but it's more that they don't really have VR counterpart like baldurs gate and really any fighting game I love the hybrid model to play those games flat when I don't wanna get the headset out or just lazy
