I have a theory about our favorite songs. You connect with the lyrics on a subconscious level without realizing it. Then once you start digging you realize why you liked it so much in the first place

i remember playing with bionicles in the living room, ice age on cable tv, mom blasting tunes on her radio while singing and dancing in the kitchen and this song comes on, we smile and dance to it and shortly after that dad comes home, we watch the rest of ice age together and talk about the last day of school and then we all fall asleep in the living room... so very long ago... i miss you, dad.

I just started singing this song today out of nowhere and I was like oh! I haven’t heard that song in ages what are the lyrics anyway and came over to watch the video. Now I’m sobbing because life has been life-ing on hard mode lately and I’ve just been holding it all in. This was just the reminder i needed that I have a community of family and friends around me so I don’t have to shoulder life’s weights on my own and that even if I fall there are people there that will catch me. And God always holds me up and is there when I fall. “Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11‬:‭28‬-‭30‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Yeah. I was just singing this song out of nowhere a couple days ago. And the past several years, plus several more, has been so challenging. My cancer. Mom died wrongfully, due to nursing home neglect. Friends died. A few by their own hands. Lost my job due to the mandatory pandemic shutdown. Losing everything. Living in a ghetto. No partner. Noone to help me. When does life get better? A neverending struggle.

This isn't really my music, but the last time I heard this I was a teenager at an outdoor concert of theirs in California with my girlfriend on my shoulders and her screaming her lungs out. She's now married with kids and I haven't changed as much as I'd hoped by now. Being pretty unhappy with where my life is, the song kind of has more meaning to me now that it did back then.

This hits differently now that I am approaching my 30s. Let me tell you, as someone who has pushed through deep depression, the loss of a relationship, and had my life do a complete 180 from where I expected it to be at this point; Don't lose hope. Embrace the detour. There is something beautiful on the other side of that wreckage. The only way out of the darkness is through it. Cry when you need to, feel the pain, pause if necessary, watch a few k-dramas at 3:00 am and mourn the loss of what could have been, but please don't stay there. One second at a time, one minute at a time, one day at a time. It does get better. I am so glad I didn't give in to the desire to die. It may take a few years, but please hang in there. Whoever you are, you are not alone. Sending virtual hugs to whoever may need them. ❤

In memory of my sweet angel baby Toby Johnson. Sweet child left the world way to soon. This song brings great memories of a child i helped raise for the first 10 years of his life. As a little boy he and his lil sis would run throughout the house scream singing laughing joyous glee this song. They were 5 yr 6ys so they didn't know what they were singing but something about this song made them happy. Dad would listen to this song that's how they heard it. Well tomorrow is the 4 yr anniversary of the world losing the best 18 year old boy the world was yet to meet and love like us lucky few. I LOVE YOU TOBY JOHNSON I MISS YOU SO MUCH ❤😢❤

When this song was at it's peak, everyone seemed to know it but me. The class I was in was full of the typical back then. Everyone had a label, some were bullied, others were quiet, people usually kept to themselves or their own clique. We had a very important test that day, but the teacher was weirdly kind enough to turn on the radio and play music while we did it. Near the end of the class period, this song came on and everyone seemed to drop their pencils and look at each other. Some started to hum along, others whispered to it quietly. Then as the song progressed, people were singing it louder and louder. I was looking around in awe at how everyone came together over a simple song. I think the teacher mimicked my thoughts and decided not to get angry over it. He let the song play out, cranked it, and everyone sang with a smile on their face. It was hard not to smile with them, even if I didn't know the song. I found the song later on that day and was obsessed with it for a month. I still come back to this song once in a while and remember that memory fondly, getting a nostalgic and sad smile for the days gone by.

Who told you that lie? That life was supposed to be perfect and beautiful. Nah I didn't have a father to tell me, life is crap and you'll feel alone and depressed and some days you won't be able to get out of bed, some weeks, some months , life is crap life sucks sometimes and maybe it was all my fault, I'll admit it it was. But you keep moving, you man up, you get stronger, you face your fears, you will be ridiculed and exposed do what, it will pass but to get our of here you have to get out of hell first and if you decide to do it I promise there's something else after the pain, I promise you'll have the strength, the courage, you'll be a man, you'll be someone that's proud of whom they are. You'lll finally be able to mediate, to appreciate more, to love because you gotta start with yourself, to love fully in this world. This song saved me from killing myself 10 years ago, and it did the same thing today. I'll move along

This song and album has saved my life more times then I can count. When my family cut ties with me and I had no one, rock bottom and ready to end my life, this came on and i kept pushing. Few days later, met this woman, dated, got married. Flash forward 16 years, she passed away 2022. Just shy of 11 years married, together 16, i was ready to end it. No kids, still no blood family, she was my everything and that was ripped from he at 36 years old, she passed at 32. Again this album saved my life and now its been 2 years and still struggling but this song helps me fight the fight to continue on. Thank you AAR.

Go ahead as you waste your days with thinking When you fall, everyone stands Another day, and you've had your fill of sinking With the life held in your Hands are shaking cold These hands are meant to hold Speak to me When all you got to keep is strong Move along, move along like I know you do And even when your hope is gone Move along, move along just to make it through Move along Move along So a day when you've lost yourself completely Could be a night when your life ends Such a heart that will lead you to deceiving All the pain held in your Hands are shaking cold Your hands are mine to hold Speak to me When all you got to keep is strong Move along, move along like I know you do And even when your hope is gone Move along, move along just to make it through Move along (Go on, go on, go on, go on) When everything is wrong, we move along (Go on, go on, go on, go on) When everything is wrong, we move along Along, along, along When all you got to keep is strong Move along, move along like I know you do And even when your hope is gone Move along, move along just to make it through When all you got to keep is strong Move along, move along like I know you do And even when your hope is gone Move along, move along just to make it through When all you got to keep is strong Move along, move along like I know you do (Know you do) And even when your hope is gone Move along, move along just to make it through Right back what is wrong We move along (Go on, go on, go on, go on) Right back what is wrong We move along (Go on, go on, go on, go on) Right back what is wrong We move along (Go on, go on, go on, go on) Right back what is wrong We move along

Fell in love with this song the first time I heard it in 2005. I was 11. The song and the lyrics have helped go through SO much throughout my life. My teenage years were basically me trying not to take my own life. Today i'm 29, about to turn 30 and the song still resonates SO much. I feel it. I'm going through a tough hearbreak and a grief. The song is on replay... just like when I was 14. I'm planning on getting these lyrics tattooed along my spine .

Hey fellow broken but healing soul... Coincidentally I went through the same thing growing up with suicide and depression... And I'm also 29 turning 30 this year. I'm just into a month of my breakup of 6.5 years of the person who I thought was my soulmate (long story short, she had a mental illness and was hiding that fact that she used to habitually cheat and was a pathological liar who manipulated me, and eventually cheated on me, but still denied it even after the end)... During the break up, I struggled so much not taking my life...but this past week as I've made progress in my own healing, this song has been on replay for me when I feel the sadness start to kick in... I guess, I just wanted to say, you are not alone. And quite honestly, it's funny how there's so many of us right now going through the same thing... Sending you and to anyone that reads this a virtual hug and love

@@benmstewie Reading your message made me feel a little better, thank you ! But my ex never cheated, or did anything really wrong (he was just a bit selfish sometimes). But he wants to join the army, and puts a lot of pressure on himself. he wants to achieve his dream and he knows he won't have enough time to handle everything. he said that i'd have suffered from his absence. Whatsmore he's leaving for the other side of the country for good next year. So yep, he kinda "sacrificed" me., saying i'm the love of his life, and that he hopes we find our way back to each other someday.. I hope i'll get better because my heart is more broken than it has ever been.

Songs do have power to heal and change decisions. Heard this song when I was 19; I'm about to be 37 in September. Life put me into situations where I was about to commit suicide (on two separate occasions) but as you can see I'm writing this message so I didn't go through with that. It was so hard but I got back up to live for another few days.

"Move Along" was written by Nick Wheeler and Tyson Ritter. Wheeler explained that the song is "an anti-suicide message song about believing in oneself and persevering in the face of problems". According to Wheeler, they wrote the song at a time "when we were at our wits' end wondering if we were ever going to get to make a second record. Our manager and our guy just kept saying, 'Keep writing, keep writing.' All we knew was, hey, man, we wrote 11 songs and that's all we had to our name when we made the first record." Ritter went on to say, "Thankfully [our manager] pushed us to our wits' end, because the last two songs we wrote for our second record were 'Move Along' and 'It Ends Tonight', which were both top ten hits. And it actually became pretty easy writing follow-up hits once the juices started flowing."
