Got married a few years ago. Just got finished telling her the tales (plus some changes I made so it actually has an ending.) At first (year1 and 2), she said it was just like any other preteen boy toy. By the time I got to year 4, she loved it.

These were the good songs. Now they play crap and I'm thirteen I hate my generations music now. It's sad all about money drugs weed and sex and looking perfect for a boy. I'm tired of it this kinda of music needs to come back

@lilliecatherine42379 жыл бұрын
this has been my fav song since it came out omg. we were all born in the wrong generation 👌
@WanderingVincent9 жыл бұрын
As a 20 year old, I, at your age, thought the same with crap like Soulja Boy being on the radio all the time. What you see now is only the 'cream of the crop' of my generation. It is only because of our nostalgia that we forgot that the music of the past generation (Jonas Brothers, Soulja Boy) is like the music of the new generation (5sos, 1D, etc). Eventually, your generation will produce a good number of musicians worth remembering while the crap we hear will be forgotten as they hardly left a mark on the generation.
@chawawa91849 жыл бұрын
It's just our generation man. Every generation has a shitty genre of music and this generations just happens to be rap. My advice, watch anime, listen to your music,don't fall into depression.
@WanderingVincent9 жыл бұрын
Rap has been popular since the 90's, and with Soulja Boy and Lil Wayne plaguing my ears until my junior year of high school, I only recently see rap slowly being replaced by dubstep and other form of electronic music.

She's now married with kids and I haven't changed as much as I'd hoped by now. Being pretty unhappy with where my life is, the song kind of has more meaning to me now that it did back then.

The hairstyles, the clothes, the music... this was 2006 in a nutshell. I coincidentally dressed and looked exactly like the lead singer of this band during my freshman year of high school, and I'm pretty sure I even had this song on my MySpace at one point too (even though I only knew two songs by them). I never thought I'd say this, but I actually sort of miss those days. Things were so much simpler then. For me, anyway.

This hits differently now that I am approaching my 30s. Let me tell you, as someone who has pushed through deep depression, the loss of a relationship, and had my life do a complete 180 from where I expected it to be at this point; Don't lose hope. Embrace the detour. There is something beautiful on the other side of that wreckage. The only way out of the darkness is through it. Cry when you need to, feel the pain, pause if necessary, watch a few k-dramas at 3:00 am and mourn the loss of what could have been, but please don't stay there. One second at a time, one minute at a time, one day at a time. It does get better. I am so glad I didn't give in to the desire to die. It may take a few years, but please hang in there. Whoever you are, you are not alone. Sending virtual hugs to whoever may need them. ❤
