Ironman and War Machine can take a nuke at ground zero with 2% power remaining. 2% Ironman was traveling at Mach 8.7, in Extremis Armor, so currently he's fast enough to escape the pull of a black hole. Sentry himself, a guy on par with Superman was impressed by his speed. Tony has a suit that was able to hold it's own for a while against the Phoenix Force. Ironman has variety, he can almost Instantly call down for support or a new suit addition or even a new suit entirely based on the needs of the situation. Steel doesn't have that kinda flexibility.

First of all i think icon is an insane and stupid concept. Why whould enyone in their right mind, who had vast superhuman powers, chose to be a slave? Its an unimaginative cop out that i never agreed with or understood way back when i first read milestone comics. I could see him either flying off somewhere once his powers manifested so at least he wouldn't be subjected to enslavement, or barring that if he gave a damm enough to be black on a planet that was subjegating, and oppressing the people he "chose" as you pointed out to look like, he whould've used his powers to help them free themselves rather then sit back and do nothing, which if you read the original comics he did until he encounters rocket his female side kick who informs him on how lame he is. Totally unacceptable from basic common sense stand point. Never liked the character or the idiot concept behind it. Not only that but Dwayne mcduffy and colleagues at milestone were supposed to be creating an alternative universe right? So why make on where slavery existed at all? Or if it did why couldn't icon have simply used his powers to end it, thus giving the milestone universe a totally unique timeline? Now that whoud've been interesting. Of course you cant do that if unless you're thinking outside the box. Too many black comic fans prefer the establishment token black comic heroes. Most of these weren't created to exist outside the established white supremacist power fantasy narrative that most mainstream comics industry is based upon. In that scenario all you're ever going to get is ideological crumbs from another mans table. Free YOUR MIND Black people. Make your owm.

Again a solid list. I do agree with one of the comments that would put in mr terrific- he could fit in the “cold hearted” Batman schemer role, and I like the thought of him and black lightning going head to head over alternate ways to solve a problem. I would be ok with leaving cyborg off - between steel and mr terrific you got the tech thing covered. Don’t leave vixen as the only woman on the team. Bumblebee could play a great role. So could Rocket - icons partner. Speaking of roles - BRONZE TIGER. Can play the “we don’t trust him completely” role like Wolverine in his early days with the X-Men, and.....you always need a ninja. I am cool with icon for the reasons you stated. He CHOSE to walk with us. That is definitely not the easy way out in life. He gets props from me for that.

Young Justice cartoon, season one finally showed a meeting with the Justice League council members. They throw out a passing remark that Superman first saw Icon in action though he was a Kryptonian. But they didn't give any details on that encounter. So I think it could have went something like this. Superman, " Hello I'm Superman and you are ?" Icon, " Name's Icon, and everyone knows who you are." Superman, " Are you Kryptonian ?! " Icon, " Sorry but no." ( Superman slumps his shoulders and lets out a deep sigh.) Icon, " Need a hug big guy ?"

If we support them it could make it over to the USA. I say looked at it they go in to west African culture the magic and they are world building. Ok, I thought both lists were strong representations of good teams. I like to take the 4 you agreed on (Black Lighting, John Stewart, Vixen and Steel) and take Mr. Terrific ( DC’s Reed Richards) and Nubia (Earth 23 version) from Column A and Cyborg from Column B. I think Cyborg’s digital connection is essential in today’s world. He would be the communications hub because every team needs a central hub when facing threats from everywhere. He is an essential worker. For my Younger version, I would have From the Young Justice team- Naomi (the latest iteration of Super girlish character that I love) and Aqualad (Jackson Hyde), Far Sector Green Lantern Jo Mullein, Kid Flash (Wally West), Static (Virgil Hawkins) HawkGirl (Kendra Sanders) and Lighting (Jennifer Pierce)

If I was to make it a JLB Unlimited, I'd add Coldcast (who is actually more powerful than Black Lightning, but doesn't have BL's mystical black lightning), Onyx, Icon, Rocket, Connor Hawke, Jason Rusch, Jo Mullein, Jakeem Thunder, Dr. Mist, Empress, Tanya Spears, Micron, Hessia, Batwing (Zavimbe), Hardware, Steel, and Cyborg. Side note: Vixen was only able to mimic Superman's powers because Anansi tampered with her powers. The morphogenetic field doesn't normally allow this.

I love the list and it’s formidable but I would not use Falcon because Black Panther could fill that leadership role. I would instead include Black Pather’s wife, Storm. Her abilities would be crazy useful to the team. As opposed to Falcon, whose leadership is noteworthy but could be filled by Blue Marvel or Black Panther. Both are more than capable.
