With 1 week to go until England face the All Blacks, this is the New Zealand team that, as an England fan, I DON'T want to see. The side I fear.

Most NZers underrate Blackadder. Fact is he should of been locked in playing 6 and 7 since he had that great game against the boks in 2021 and should of displaced Cane then. Injuries kinda prevented that but I believe he was totally mismanaged by Foster also. Should of been another McCaw for us. I would actually prefer to see him at 7 to offset Steph du toit. But im realist and he's probably more likely to be used as cover off the bench as he can cover all three backrow positions. And Sevu Reece is the best winger in the world right now most people dont notice that he was not only leading super rugby in tries but also things like try assists, offloads and jackals (FROM THE WING!!!). Theres no way he isnt first choice winger his allround skillset and the stuff he does off the ball is crazy.

Crusaders fan here. I'm biased cos I love Todd Blackadder, so I really wanted the best for Ethan. He's got grit, tackles like a demon, 80+ minute player, chases everything and anyone, BUT he was a late developer. He was inaccurate at rucks when he was younger, and I don't believe he read the game as well as a flanker needs to. Apparently he was a late bloomer, didn't make selections or the first xv in high school. And add to that inconsistent game time due to 5+ years of injuries He's definitely good enough to be there now, and maybe Foster didn't do him any favours, but I personally think Blackadder had a lot of opportunities too. And I'm a fan, btw. Really happy he's in the team

Sevu reece workrate is phenomenal. Does not not missing, he looks for work. Last year I would of said no to Caleb Clark, this year he has cleaned up his act, hair, looking sharp.seems limited with his bag of tricks, but cannot underestimate his reckless abandon of self to get the ball and score.he is a pinball train. ALB is needed in the centre's, he has found some form this season and earned his spot. A true center that can read and control the game. My surprise would be having Sititi to start with Ardie on the bench. Ardie needs some game time to get back into the swing of things and we need him for the long haul. Love Blackadder as a starter.

Amazing that you were able to walk around one of the greatest rugby stadiums in the world. Aside from the 1995 World Cup Final there was also the 2013 Rugby Championship decider at Ellis Park, that was in my humble opinion one of the greatest games ever played. My brother-in-law, Dan Perrin, scored his only ever Super Rugby try for the Crusaders on this ground vs the Lions. He has now spent two seasons with the Crusaders team as forwards coach, having stepped in when Jason Ryan was elevated to the All Blacks. In regards to the opening test which will be at half time this time next week, I think Scott Robertson will put his best side out there knowing he has to hit the ground running and that he can't take this English side lightly. Should be a cracking two game series, with a third game at Twickenham in November this year as well.

I’m seeing a lot of press (all over really) that suggests this is sewn up for NZ) I’m quite nervous personally, New Zealand historically hasn’t needed much of a warm up but with new coach, several new people in key areas and without a warm up game there is a tonne that can go wrong. Both teams will be up for it and borthwick is a smart coach. He will have a strong plan. Good luck to both teams but hoping for ABs victory. Really hoping for a classic series, close games etc. Cheers

Globally if you look at front row depth by far New Zealand are back and arguably have the most potential. Especially with Jason Ryan running the show. I picked Aumua to start as well. Let the lad cut loose for 60 minutes. If the game is in the balance bring on Codie. The cool head who you can count on in the line out. It’s quite funny. In New Zealand everyone is blowing up about Hoskins Sotutu not making it. But he is a player that no one outside of New Zealand fears. The question should be when the going gets tough who would you rather have in your team

I think Robertson has this one sown up, as in what he wishes to do. Whether they will beat England or not is another story. I see what he has done with the side, makes sense to me. The forward pack could be immense for the All-Blacks, with those 2 140KG on each side of the Hooker, yeah, that will be interesting to see. The All-Blacks needed to get bigger, well this pack is big, no doubt about that. Obviously DC is a bit of an unknown quantity at 10, that could be a problem, but we shall see. Wish them all the best and England, I like the look of England, they are looking alright, but their forward pack may come under the cosh of the All-Blacks, like the English did the last time we met in Twickenham, is England got decimated by the All-Blacks. I see people making recordings about this up and coming series, and most of them seem to think that NZ have the smaller and lesser experienced forward pack, lol. It astonishes me some people, and the stuff they say, when it is obvious that in actual fact that forward pack NZ have, dominated SA in the Final, NZ outsmarted SA and ultimately it was NZ cups, for a few reasons. So the forward pack of NZ is Worldclass, it is not behind England, it is England that have a lesser forward pack and could end up quite mashed up by the All-Blacks if NZ nail it right on the selections. Not underestimating England, but the last time they met NZ in London, NZ crushed them in the forwards, so much so that I had not seen an All-Black side ruck and maul an English pack with such ease, I mean it was with such ease, lol. So I do not understand why some people who have made videos about this up and coming test series, that seem to think Englands forward pack is better than NZ, because, sorry na, its not and it has not been for a few years. I do expect NZ to win, but I will not be shocked if England win a game in NZ. The media and quite a few people like to play propaganda and "he said this and she said that", games about NZ rugby series, no matter who they are against. Just this air of ignorance about NZs forward pack, which is as good as SA and Ireland, if not better or certainly can be better than those 2 in specific, but we never hear the propagandarists and those with a lack of knowledge actually admit that NZ have a mega awesome forward pack and tight 5, and the loosies, way ahead of England and Ireland too. NZ could under Robertson, potentially heading for a period of back at the top, is how I see it. Foster nearly achieved it himself, he did alright for NZ, even if we lost the series to Ireland, I thought NZ did really well in RWC 2023, and yes, they should have won it. A try that was disallowed, bad call from that English ref who has ripped NZ off before with his calls, and the decision to kick for 3 and Jordie Barrett missing the kick. Those 2 decisions their cost the game for the All-Blacks, but ultimately, the call by the ref to disallow the try by Ardie Savea if I remember rightly or Aaron Smith after that lineout, was bang out of order. So we shall see wont we, but what I do see is the usual digging at NZ, the usual NH rubbish you get from them up their. NZ are the dogs, they will return back to the top, and I think NZ have the ability to be dominant across the park.

I know you're a passionate fan but man do you talk some bs. What the Ab's lack is discipline, especially when it comes to the new rules, also innovation is another big one. So many ab's fans still wanna believe they're in the Mccaw era but that's over. The last time the Ab's played Eng they didn't dominate them, they basically had the game won and coughed up several tries in the span of 10 mins to draw the game 25 all. It's the other way around, NZ got outsmarted, with the wet conditions in the RWC final they were clueless without their running game being effective. They didn't want that physicality SA brought all game save for the scrums right at the end. Keeping in mind you got Argentina in the semis and an entire extra day of rest, the Springboks didn't even have a hooker for most of the 80mins. France have absolutely demolished you the last 2 times you've played them now, both times winning by 10+ points, the days of old are over. This new coach is way better than foster but he can't fix NZ rugby as a whole. With SA now playing in the North and the rugby over there not only being far better funded, the various styles of play are making those teams seriously tough. Who are the ab's playing or testing themselves against? Ireland have also won half their last 10 matches against the ab's. It's not that the ab's have gotten worse, everyone else has just gotten better and your same tired old style of trying to run for 80 mins without any real backup against modern defenses is also a factor. The numbers prove it, you're no longer winning 90% of matches. NZ are nowhere near getting back to no1. If you have the guts watch some of the European comps and it'll tell you the story of how France are beating NZ so easily now. If Australian rugby eventually crumbles and rugby pacific as a result and the Springboks leave the rugby championship in favour of the 6n NZ rugby would take decades to recover. As it stands NZ rugby is skating on thin ice. You might think you're good enough to test your players amongst only yourselves and your style of play but the stats prove you're not winning nearly as often, and isn't it a coincidence that when SA teams left your comp and took their brutal physical style with them that suddenly the ab's are losing much more. As it stands NZ rugby looks more shaky than in decades.

@@karatekid-nq6ct Right well if the A.I. Protectorate of the UK was not censoring every single honest comment, then you would have been put in your place real quickly. Not interested in what you people in SA have to say. You are overrated, as far as I am concerned, NZ won the cup, and you SA, well as I say, you are due some serious losses. I expect Ireland will beat SA, 1 a piece that will be. As for England Vs NZ, either way, I respect both England and NZ, but I have little respect for SA rugby. Bashers, cheaters, get away with so much. The game SA mashed NZ just before the RWC, I saw what should have been an instant red card on the severe attack on ABs loosie, which cut the back of his head up badly, had to leave the field, and the SA fowler, got away with it. It was a blatant red card and a 2 match RWC ban right their, but got away with it. The disallowed try which would have won the ABs the RWC, not awarded. Other things too, so do not delude yourself. I hope Ireland dispatch SA, followed by the All-Blacks.

NZ are brimming with confidence at the moment. This team is going to be something special. Especially when roigard and will jordan return. Sititi is a star in the making. Perfect balance of young and old. Looking forward to being at the game in auckland. I have really grown to love south africans and what they bring to rugby, always respected them, but of late I have had a chance to make a couple of south african friends in new zealand and they are top notch people.

Seeing that view down the players' tunnel reminded me of James Small and Jonah walking down there together in the Jonah doco. So sad they're both gone now. Cool you showed us the Ellis Park museum as well as the ground! Cool idea for a team there and interesting picks but I think your team is one for later in the season. The ABs need to build into this season so I reckon Razor will lean on the experienced, incumbent players for this first match. The new guys (particularly Tosi) have a lot to learn and there's enough of a challenge for the ABs to take on England when they've only been together a couple of weeks. They need time to settle in and know they need to earn the jersey. Agree with your 1,3,4 and 5 but Taylor will start at 2 because he's more accurate in the lineout. Aumua will be more effective as impact off the bench. TJ will also be a handful off the bench, together they will be scary for a tiring England defence! I think ALB will be on the bench ahead of Proctor as he covers 12 and 13 and is such a cool head. The wings and the flankers are hard to pick but I think Finau will start at 6 and Papali'i at 7. I think DMac will be 10 and Beaudie 15. Looking forward to DMac v Smith matchup! Ardie played a club match in Wellington a couple of weeks back and talked about being a bit gassed so I wonder if he will not play the full 80? That's where Sititi might get a shot off the bench but I reckon you'll see Blackadder or Jacobson there as they cover 6,7 or 8. I think there's enough to fear from the ABs without any wildcards in the selection 😉 Looking forward to the match and looking forward to Razor's ABs!

A great pity an iconic stadium like Ellis Park is in such an awful part of Joburg. Tim, you're gonna love Cape Town when you eventually get down here, which is paradise by comparison 🤘

Glad you are enjoying your visit Tim and it's great to have you in South Africa. Another place you might want to visit is the SAA Museum at Rand Airport. It's about 10 minutes drive from Ellis Park. The Boeing 747 that flew over the stadium that day in 95 with the "good luck Bokke" message on it, is parked there on permanent display.

I'm assuming you are only coming down just before the SA v NZ games but if you are here earlier and want to see a good school rivalry on 3 August there is a game in Paarl (Western Cape) between Paarl Boys High and Paarl Gimnasium. Back to the selection I think by the sounds of it that NZ will go with a 6/2 split as a lot of the backs can cover various positions. But the team you have mentioned is good on paper just have to see how they would gel. Only one is I would replace Narawa with Caleb Clarke he is solid. Thanks for channel and unbiased views.

Clarke at 11, so solid under the high ball and textbook tackler. Powerful runner who draws multiple tacklers to open space. Hat Trick of tries in the championship. I think Williams is injured. Tosi, Aumua and deGroot would be a handful at the start of any game.

I really like your knowledge on players not just England, but every team. You probably know them better than a lot of rugby watching fans. I agree with you about Rieko Ioane, he was devastating on the wing, then they changed him. In my mind he's not as creative in the centre's.

As someone who needs to see the All Blacks go back to being the dominant force of world rugby, i mostly agree with your picks, but I'd much rather have the experienced players start and blitz the opposition later on. In the spirit of South Africa, I'd love to see an NZ bomb squad of Tamaiti, Asafo and Tosi come on. Watch out for Ratima. He's the closet thing to A. Smith that the ABs have

It is an interesting selection. I think the selection will be more conservative for the first test. That means players like Codie Taylor to start, for example and maybe too soon for impact players like Tosi or Sititi. However, if they win the first test - they may start rolling out some new caps, to see how they do.

Great team and analysis as always. My only change would be Finau instead of Blackadder. Ratima to start as his pass is the fastest. And I'd do 6-2 split with Jacobson added to bench next to Sititi

NZ has an abundance of wing talent. I would definitely have Reece in there and Clarke has had a great season. Telea has not had the best of seasons especially in the later part. I'm still a big fan of his but you cannot fit them all in. Love the show!

I‘m really excited to see how Razor starts his era as AB coach. He‘s selected a pretty good side, though Beauden‘s only there to cover for Jordan. The player I feel for is Shaun Stevenson. I rate way over Clark

I watched many of the crusaders games with Razor coaching and I think we are going to see the start of something special, Razor’s ABs. I’m an Englishman and have to doff my hat to Steve bothwick and the England boys, but man for.man the ABs have it and Englands front row is pitiful in comparison

FWD pack is solid I’d probably put Finau in but that’s just my slight preference and backline I’d had 9. Ratima 10. D-Mac 11. Clarke 12. Jordie 13. Proctor 14. Rieko 15. Beaudy And the bench TJ, Perofeta, ALB, that backline would have a good balance of speed power and skill and combinations that are used to playing together and Perofeta and ALB versatility off the bench
