A breeching is a critical part of a riding saddle for most mules and horses when your riding steep up and down country. It keeps the saddle in place when going down hills. When adjusted properly it is priceless. When adjusted incorrectly it can spell trouble and soreness to your riding and pack animals. In this video I show you how I like my breeching to be adjusted and to ride on the hind quarters of my stock. I explain the parts and different buckle types.

Great video!! Conway buckles are great to set in place and never adjust them again! Better than a rivet, because they can be adjusted....with a lot of effort and cussing! Really fun frozen! They have their place, but I hate them too! So what were the chains with the toggles? They look familiar, but I'm not sure what they are? I have seen hobbles with a toggle set up, but those look different?

I feel like you run that britchen to loose. Especially given the fact they always seem to loosen up once your down the trail a ways. You said leave advise at the end of the video so there’s my opinion. I don’t like to give the saddle that much room to move or before ya know it the pad is walking out from under the saddle

Thanks for the comments, I’ll keep any eye on it but seems like with the extreme country i ride if i go much tighter it rubs them too much.
