If your a boon-docker that fridge sucks unless you have a generator, as I know people who have it and hate it, because if your in an area with 4-5 days of rain and cloud, your solar can't charge up the battery's so your only option is to have a generator, at least with propane you don't need to worry about your battery levels as these fridges are not as efficient as the companies would have you believe. If your still stuck on having batteries run everything you'll need to go Lithium, and this opens a whole new can of worms as they perform poorly in cold weather. (for those of us who like to winter camp). I just can't beat good AGM batteries (work in the cold) and 2 thirty pound propane tanks and I can go for weeks on end.

Great question! The outlet itself has 4 locking features on the cover for when the plug is not in use. The self aligning sleeve protects the pins against stress. The plug has a triple seal design that is weatherproof. The recessed face seal prevents moisture intrusion.
