So this is all leading up to Thor vs Demogorge the God Eater, right? That's why Ewing cut off the Elder God origin where he did. And that's why they keep talking about the wheel turning, cause Demogorge devours pantheons once their cycle ends.

If we go back all the way to Jack Kirby, we could see that a hidden but significant inspiration, for their mythology was the works of Emmanuel Velkoski. That is where you get inspiration for things like the celestial, the Marvel mythology around the demiurge, the old Steve, Gerber, strange tales story about Sise-neg (Genesis)… all the way up to aspects of Al Ewing’s Immortal Hulk… now this is interesting and I would hope that the writer can dig in and find some interesting tippets for the story.

Well written storyline with some good parts. Still think storm should have asked Thor to come clean house cause hed kill that mutant army easily. But then that story would be bland I guess. Same as Avengers Thor often being nerfed cause hed wreck and end the story too soon. Hope Hela comes into play here I feel shes got a part to play

this is very logical. During ancient times Toranos could hurl his wheel against similar beings with no consequence and no conscience needed. But in the modern world there are lives and souls that influence the gods...he saw and felt the devastation he caused through new eyes. And that's what hurt him. He can never go back to being an uncaring force of nature.

So like finding out Gaea, worked with Utgard Loki to send Utgard Thor down on them.. that's a plot twist... and finding out Skurge is alive and in negotiate with ROxon's CEO Dario Agger is another plot twist... and to have the Enchantress show up is man many more plot twists in itself that need to be speculated on.. Each one of these evens will change the direction of the story as the story unfolds, with the Enchantress maybe even pulling a string on Thor and forcing yet another direction change of the story before her last one is even shown.

Ok, I am partially disapointed at the last two issues. Don't get me wrong: there's a lot to like here, but there's some things that felt a bit distasteful for me. To keep things brief and simple, I feel like we could have a cooler fight. Toranos could have atacked more, Thor gang could have endure some injuries, more cool panels. The elder god could have shown a bit of his new power after having grabbed Mjolnir, maybe caused some devastation on Earth, or even some reality warping issues (I mean, dude is stronger than a skyfather in his base condition). After realizimg that all he did was a flashy display, and the damage wasn't as great as it initially seemed, Thor could do the "Hold the Storm" discourse, then a terrified Toranos would lash out, trying to resist the "worthiness corruption" and unleash actual devastation. At this moment, Thor's gang would try to stave off the damage (and again Toranos wouldn't be able to use his full might against them, so it wouldn't feel inconsistent) until the elder god give up and gave Mjolnir back. That's not to say that I disliked how the history panned out, I just think it needed to feel a bit more like a fight, we could have felt more the stakes and excitement.

Asking for the cape sort of ruined the moment for me, it seemed a selfish and petty thing to ask of anybody. Like, can I help you in return? No, give me your cape instead. You don't ask for the clothes off people's back. It's unseemly and not the act of a hero. I don't think I like this OP version of Storm that everyone else is simping over. Also, I prefer the Mighty Thor over the Sensitive Thor. I preferred Diabolical Loki over gender confused Loki. Dang, I even prefer Brunhilde over Foster. I do like the Elder God weave but that leads me to saying I don't enjoy ultra OP Hulk that simply smashes anything in his way. Maybe this will come together over time but my personal complaints leave me debating purchases. Maybe the problem is Roxxon has been running Marvel the last decade. If it sells, it sells. I'm not pissing on your parade, I'm glad if people love it. Marvel will eventually have a changing of the guard and someone has to keep the industry afloat until then. I keep cancelling subscriptions. Thor was already off but I recently dropped Moonknight. I'm down Hulk and anything Ghost Rider. It used be a $200 monthly habit for me and now I'm called a toxic problem by them rather than an honest critic. I was always critical. Current Marvel does not abide criticism, which is fine I guess. It has left me with more money for beer and cat toys.
