Thank You Gregg Allman for the words. When it was all shot to hell for me, when all hope was gone. I turned up the music and found that I too, still had two strong legs and even wings to fly. I'm not wasting my time no more thanks to God and a good head Dr in Atl Ga. After all this time I am finding my way.

Another Allman Brother's classic brings me to tears. Back when music actually had some substance, rhythm, melody. "I sure do miss Duane Allman--wish that he was still around."

"Raise our children any peaceful way we can, it's up to you and me brother, to try and try again." I've taken these words to heart in raising my own children.

Ya'll may not believe this but- this one song changed my life yesterday/this mornin. My uncles death(a few days ago) put my mind into a new perspective and i listened to this tune on the way to work last night. Its so strange and hard to explain but some of these lines I listened to very closely for the first time and we can all take some of them as personal feelings and take them into perspective in relevance to our situations.I hope this time my step was real and works out.(matters of the heart)

its not amazing its insane how anyone could dislike this. It says SO much if people would open their minds and actually LISTEN! I did. I felt, cried, laughed, and felt like a real human being all because this song simply told me to be FREE. Im serious. x Peace

Man...the Allman Brothers Band will always be my favorite...just that soulful bluesy sound...all these cats came together at the right time in our universe and put together some of the best music ever played...and now, with Gregg's passing, they are no more. I'm so glad I was able to see them several times in my life. I've liked several bands in my lifetime, but none have held that number 1 spot like the ABB. When Gregg passed in May, I was heartbroken. Always wondered how folks could be brought to tears when a favorite performer passed and now I know...I was saddened when Cobain died back in 94 but when Gregg passed it really hit me...I realized it was the end of an era. The hope of seeing Betts and Allman together just one more time...will never be. So anyways...Gregg will be reunited with Duane, Berry and Butch and I honestly believe their music will live on forever... Rest In Peace, gentlemen...

right you are Clay. One of a kind. I remember the first time i heard them. They sounded different. almost a little dark, but their confidence and swagger made it obvious they knew what they were doing. I just wanted to hear more to see where they took me. that was in 1970.

This is one of the first songs they did AFTER Duane died. It's a shame Duane Allman isn't on this track but Dickey Betts does a very good job on slide. Gregg said when they cut the song he wasn't aware that Dickey could play slide. Dickey and Duane were very close and great friends and Duane showed Dickey the slide thing including stopping the slide on top of the fret rather than between them as one does when playing regular guitar. Duane told Joe Walsh the same.
