Yeah it's sad, This is the decade where we are going to see ENTIRE bands from the classic era no longer with us. Drummer Jamoie is now the only original member of the Allman Brothers Band still alive. There are no living members left of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, and several others. Scary to think that in the next 10-15 years almost ALL of the bands and musicians who were famous in the 60s through 70's will be gone.

In 1973 Dickie Betts wrote Rambling Man & offered it to Merle Haggard. Merle listened to Dickie's demo & told him that he sounded great & he should record it with The Allman Brothers Band. This song went on to become one of The Allman Brothers Band Biggest Hits!!! Later on in the 80s I was watching Merle Haggard on The Nashville Network with Ralph Emery & Merle Haggard said that he has kicked himself many times for not recording this GREAT SONG!!!
