I really love this cover of Jimi's Voodoo Child. Second time seeing her, and she's outstanding guitarist. 👏 When Jimi passed away, then there was Robin Tower and he was very good. But I believe this girl surpasses Robin, and what a gig with Jimi and Ally playing together that would be!!! Many have tried to cover this classic Hendrixsong but it is actually a difficult song to cover without just copying the original! Ally brings new life to the song with this version! Really good playing from the whole band!!!

@@johnoneill919 I don't have any interest in trying to glorify myself off the back of Hendrix. But to be honest whether I could do a more adventurous and skillful version than hers makes no difference. Like I said, it's a relatively easy song when you look at all of Hendrix's material.

Some of that is because of the camera location. Cam mic is picking up the stage monitors and amps but not the PA speakers where the voice mic is directed. Sound would be more balanced further back in the room

This song is an autobiographical work by Hendrix, a unique part of rock history, recorded by "The Experience" the next day after Steve Winwood, and Jack Casady sat in for the late night session that gave us "Voodoo Chile." To not do it justice is a travesty. Not playing the unison guitar line with the vocals like Jimi nearly always did leaves this lacking. . Ally's cute, and a decent player, but it was a mistake to do this song.
