Mr. Gold. Your are so sensitive in all the song. In this particulary "Lassie come home", you write for your 7 children...It's amazing, and his Lily is very kind, and a luck girl. Her mother is lovely, as she. And, she is very polite, fine, lovely. You have a great family, and a very very nice and special voice, besides all the poetry, feeling, mainly a story inserted in each part of the songs. Gratefulness.

I like that a lot of Alphaville's songs have many layers and a mysterious sound to them. Partly because I grew up hearing a lot of Classical music so I didn't know synthesizers and the sound was unknown to me. In classical music I knew this sound was the flute, this sound the oboe etc... With the synthesizer I just experienced it.

Summer in Berlin has quite much magic in it. I have always love it and well Lassie Come home...is my favorite in Afternoons in Utopia and I am so curious to listen the symphonic version. Lassie come home has always sent me in trips, I liked to listen to it with headphones and in the dark...in that situation I experience really deep connection with the story in the song and the world around it. it is one of your many songs that have always talked to me, and still does. The Dolphins...I love them...always felt a connection with them and in a dream came dolphin looks like people with garments to pick me from a deserted beach where I had wrecked. I still remember that dream.

Really enjoying watching these podcasts, fantastic insights into the songs and the band....thank you both for sharing them....Summer in Berlin is one of my favourite Alphaville songs....the imagery portrayed in the lyrics is very tangible and superbly written. Forever Young was the very first LP that I purchased at the age of 11 back in 1984 living in South Africa.....we were very starved of good music at the time in South Africa due to sanctions from the apartheid regime.....I had first heard Alphaville on a television programme we had that showcased popular music.....the music video was Sounds like a Melody and I was instantly hooked....I managed to eventually find an imported pressing of the album....on wea records if my memory serves correct, which I still have to this day....

Lovely episode and so many interesting memories! And I love the part about Lassie Come Home (one of my ABSOLUTE favorites) being Bernd, Frank and then Marian… I never knew that. Also I’m thrilled that Summer In Berlin is getting a symphonic version! I love this podcast so much, keep the episodes coming! ❤️

At 11:10 he mentioned that Frank was a writer on Lassie, but he is not listed as writer. Maybe he said wrong and he meant Ricky?
@Saddler_Fan2 жыл бұрын
@@stefannilsson6843 Hmm I’m not sure… I think Lassie is an earlier AV song, before Ricky came aboard. But I dunno. Maybe Frank didn’t want to be listed anywhere on newly released songs after he’d left? Bernd mentioned in a recent podcast that he hasn’t spoken to Frank in decades. Would make sense in that context. But like I said I dunno. But Bernd has also said that Lassie is “pure Alphaville”. (Never clarified which Alphaville but he was talking about it in a context that involved 1984 Alphaville IIRC.)

I have listened to a conversation of dear Marian about the song "Summer in Berlin" before. At that time, I had felt that there was more to the song than what he told in his conversation with the journalists, because it was a song that affected me in 3 different ways. Maybe that's why I've been looking forward to the release of the podcast about this song. Even though I can only hear a tiny bit of the symphonic version of the "Summer in Berlin", one thing I'm sure of is that it will cause a much greater emotional surge than before. Also, there's a lot more in this podcast than the story of the song "Summer in Berlin." I'm so glad you're sharing with us these precious chats, each of which is a great experience. In this sense, the questions you prepared were extremely clever and useful, dear Lily. Your father is so right to be proud of you. Dear Marian, I know very well how much heartily you wanted to make this symphonic album all your life. I am very proud of you now, as I was before. You have never disappointed those who love you. You are a wonderful musician, a wonderful wordsmith, and a wonderful person. I feel endless happiness and joy with your success and your presence. I hope that you will achieve all your dreams without having to be patient and without any difficulty. You have already deserved every moment of your heart's smiles of joy. My heart has always been with you in everything you do, and please be sure about that will be the same in the future. Glad to have you. I love you and every song that overflows from your soul. I hope that your magnificent magical voice will echo in the universe forever. Eternally yours, Özgün Yurtseven ❤

I could seat there and listen to you for hours!!! Is like I discover more and more about you and Alphaville... When I look back years ago, when I did discover Alphaville, I didn't knew nothing about it, not even how you look like.. But the sound of Alphaville was genial, something new... Yes you did sounded like Alphaville as you already said.. To me, as I like to say, the Alphaville sound, wich is unique.. There is no other sound like it🎹💯💎🎶.... Summer in Berlin 💎, a lovely song, to me is like a magic 🌟, lovely song... Magic was in the air, in a hot summer, not only in Berlin, but as well on the other side of the Iron curtain, everything was different as in the West, but we still had enjoyed our youth and music from west did reached us somehow... Summer in Berlin has made me to dream, it gives a special mood, well I was a teenager... I was in loved with Alphaville music, that is why I always say my soul band ❤️ and still is ❤️🎶.... I do enjoy your podcast you do with your lovely daughter, Lilly 🌹 and I tell you again that I like your humor 🤭... @@alnash1227 👍 Oh yes, true... To me, Summer in Berlin, it will be always related to that period of time. Cold War, The Wall, West and East... Music from the West, especially from West Germany at that time it was very much appreciated in my communist country... It will brighten our young life, in spite of the political system we were living in it in the 80's. There were many bands and popular singer's of the 80's, which were more famous in our countries than in their own and I am referring here, to the music from West Germany. Specially Alphaville with all their songs had a great impact to us, but they were not accessible to us, no visit or concerts, you couldn't see them live, that had gives more aura to this band and to their songs, they had that "something" that were lounging for.... Alphaville had fascinated me from the very first time, their first album, Forever Young, will be always related to that period, with my youth and I believe that many fans feel the same. 🙋♀️🌺🎶💖🎶💖🌟

Interesting.. I was just recently reading about the 'dolphin communicator' and the 'isolation tank' guy (and am sure you can find his name online.) Quite an interesting fellow - according to what i had read, he has his own personal "maxim", having to deal with something with 'the province of the mind, and what one believes to be true', but maybe that's besides the point. Pretty far out guy, just like Timothy Leary.. not exactly sure whether i agree with everything they claimed, or where into, but respect their curiosity and innovation. Anyways, to leave you with a quote from Alphaville the film ~ "Je vous aime"

Marian has never engaged in antisocial behavior,he has never talked about love and freedom to keep the audience's attention high.Anarchists are antisocial.Maybe Marian attended them because he was naive,because he believed they were against social injustice.Undoubtedly,antisocial individuals are not found only among those who are openly anarchists and the violation of rights is not only practiced with the damage of public goods,but above all with psychological violence.Every day,we see and hear individuals generous with smiles and greetings,but stingy with justice.They play the part of helpful people very well and they are often in the company.But in fact they only favor selfish"people"and hinder meek ones.Antisocial behaviors are widespread even among those who apparently exercise professions for the common good.To appear industrious,they often take photos and give lectures about their work.But,the deceptive appearance is unmasked by the few fruits of poor quality.All this is evidenced by the comparison with the simplicity and generosity of people who really love.The most authoritative example of true love has been given to us by the saints.They loved others to the point of heroism,they solved serious problems and gave large sums of money without taking pictures or giving lectures.We have learned of some of their good works just because there were other people who told them.
