Very good and fair-minded review. I have a Militado ML105 myself and am quite keen on the watch for all of the reasons you outlined in the video. The "sweep" of this Seiko quartz movement has also made me forget (at moments) that it isn't an automatic watch, which we have seemingly experienced in common. The bead blasted finishing of the case and the case design itself are excellent. 100mm water resistance and a sapphire crystal make this a grab and go watch that I don't need to fret about. I'm very pleased to have it on my wrist. I will add that while the Militado ML105 is often compared with the Hamilton Field Khaki (and for good reason) both watches draw heavily on the mil-spec (MIL-3818B) Benrus DTU-2A/P watch that was issued to American soldiers in Vietnam. My only niggle (a slight one) is I wish the hands were just a little bit wider. I have zero regrets about this purchase.

The lume function is important : Great to be able to tell time from the hands lume in the middle of the night. You showed the watch has lume, but no further comment on longevity. Please add in future. Thanks 😊

good review, the Militado is a high quality watch, if it said Hamilton on the dial it would cost 500 dollars or more, but a Chinese micro brand did the job for 45 dollars, and that is something that Snobs cannot stand, someone who told me day when the quartz Hamilton is better over the Militado, enough for it to cost 450 dollars more. It's just Snobs and market speculation. Thanks for your video, it makes many things clear, it is logical that the Snobs want to bite you, they can't stand the fact that they paid more for an inferior product, just because of the brand.

Just wanted to add my two cents, I don’t own either watch but I do own homage watches from other brands. And for me personally, I don’t get much joy out of homages anymore. I want the history of the brand and these homage brands really lack any type of soul for me. But nothing wrong with them if you enjoy them. Nowadays you can buy a homage to almost any watch. You could also get a cheaper field style watch than the miltado, so I wouldn’t call people watch snobs just because they might want the real deal.

You can sell the Hamilton later and get most of your money back. You can also service it. The Militado is a disposable watch.

​😂😂😂😂 good joke man.i got cheap quarz watches from the early 80's which i worn day and night and are still running accurate. Changed a few times the batterie, thats it. Good review! Recently purchased this watch and I should say its a well executed homage of the HKF. May I add the non drilled lugs are more true to the fixed lug milspec field watches which is more authentic looking IMO. Also conpared to the HKF the lugs of Militado are closer so there are no obvious gaps when using standard 2 pc.straps. I agree the sweeping seconds hand movt.does not look like a quartz which this watch is. Finally the broad arrow logo at 12 is actually a British MoD logo which is kinda cool and gives it the vintage touch. Cheers!

Owning one now and I have to say it even got better: Drilled Lugs now and great straps: Their green canvas leather strap is excellent, their green NATO is super. Very happy with both watch and accessories. And we talk about a 45 USD watch!

I have that watch from Militado with the sterile logo and it´s awesome, in fact I sold my Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical after getting this watch. It solves the issue (in my mind) of the water resistance because it has 100m of water resistance and I always hat some doubts because of the movement in my Hamilton after reading some reviews and warnings mentioning the possible issues with longevity and higher strain on the main spring because of the 80 hours of power reserve. I don´t know if those things are true or not, but they had their effect on me leaving me a bit concerned when I was watching my wrist with the Hamilton. The vh31 movement is truly great, it gives the accuracy of quartz with the nicely sweeping seconds hand. I also have a Nomos Club Campus which needs winding every day and one watch less to wind with accurate time to set my mechanical watches from time to time is also nice to have. The sterile dial has something very puristic for me and it feels nice to have a well proportioned dial without the need of letters mentioning the company making the watch. The colour of Militados steel on my watch is a bit lighter compared to the Hamilton, but besides that and the missing logo on the dial and the crown they are basically identical. Oh, and the price of course. Here in Germany the Hamilton costs about 500-600€ new, the Militado was about 1/12 of that. Amazing! But I found one issue to be particularly annoying with this watch. The lug holes are closer to the case on the militado which results in some nato straps not fitting proberly on the watch. I wanted to fit it with the original Hamilton Nato strap but its too thick because of the leather accents to get it on and even after removing the springbars and reinstalling them to get the strap on the watch it doesn´t fit. It didn´t take long after installing the strap that way until one springbar exploded on me... The solution would either be to use thinner nato straps - that works very well - or to try curved springbars. Anyway, thanks for the review :)

Congrats on the purchase. It’s true the spring bars are closer to the case compared to the Hamilton. Fortunately the straps I have all fit, but I get what you mean. I hate it when that space doesn’t clear the strap

For me, having the the lug holes closer to the case solves one of the major dislikes I have about the HKF. For me they have far too much of a gap when worn on a two-piece strap, which would limit me to using passthrough straps, such as NATOs. All my NATO straps (from various manufacturers) easily work on the Militado with room to spare, but none of mine are leather-trimmed like the Hamilton strap. I'm very pleased that Miltado reduced the gap.

The Militado watch looks nice and Militado would be smart to charge an additional $10 or $15 for the watch by simply applying a good comfortable strap that provides the better feel around the wrist. Manufacturer such as this watch maker can start thinking out of the box in which if they tag a few extra dollars by applying said better quality strap then the additional few dollars many consumers may find it logical to pay said extra dollars. There is always time to buy low quality cheaper things but with a few extra dollars spent most will find that the ‘ extra cost ‘ goes a long way…

The VH-31 doesn't have a date complication, so having a date wouldn't be possible without changing the movement.

The watch comes in a fake leather box with a weird chemical smell. The watch and the strap absorbed that smell so it's hard to get rid of it in the beginning. Build quality of the watch is very good. It seems to me that the case has some kind of coating rather than being sandblasted if you compare it to the original Hamilton. Also, unlike the original, the numerals are way less glossy. The edges are sharp similary to the original. Spring bars are flimsy. The movement is pretty accurate and almost completely silent. Although I prefer the original, the watch is an apsolute bargain for higher amounts than €50.

I once had a Timex Expedition. It’s a great watch and it has its own design. So if you don’t necessarily need the Khaki Field homage, then you the Timex is a great option. Personally I like the look of the Khaki Field , so I’d go for the Militado

Ive the ET H0300 which is identical to this MLO5 less the sapphire crystal the H0300 has a mineral crystal... (A TOPIC FOR DIE HARD FIELDERS TO DISCUSS mineral or sapphire LOL )At the time i got the H0300 the ML05 wasnt about... Lume unless i put both together id say the same both ok... It’s interesting how easy it is for these brands to “homage” watches nowadays. It’s clear to everyone they do the bear minimum to avoid it being a copy. To me the line between homage and copy is very fine and in my mind these brands are almost all copies. Same goes for “homage” watches I own. They are pretty much rip offs to me. It’s fine, I just wish people would stop pretending they are respectfully homaging brands. Because that’s not true 😂 cheap cash grabs and everyone loves a good deal.
