I picked up a mint copy of this at a charity shop in 1982 for 50p, absolutely gutted as I threw all my vinyl away in the nineties when compact discs were all the rage and now it's showing on discogs for £6,000. (Comment written by AI)

Genuinely adore this! Incredible how well this turned out given it's AI. Also, love Astralia. My personal favorite nation. What a wonderland! haha. AI is getting so damn good with music man, it's wild and I love it. Normally I wouldn't want to use it, but for instances of when you need to get vocals to music you write, it's a wicked weapon to make it happen. Two tracks so far of mine on my channel are a case of me making use of it to add vocals to my music and lyrics. Normally I'm all instrumental, but I've recently really been on a hell of a kick of improvising lyrics on the fly, and using AI to get those chops onboard to complete the masters. Exciting times!

One of the great loves of doing this is the joy I get is when people who can't... Criticize people who try. But you know, they have a home too. there is always the one off AI toilet humor and unfortunate bodily fluid sounds crowd, they always seem to get a lot of attention. (with the 5 year old crowd mostly).

@@ToneHobart Don't respond to this stuff, they don't deserve your time. Love the name of the band and the sound is great. Parts of it remind me of Manfred Mann's Earth Band in the period roughly 1973-1976 and that's high praise. The Parsnip vibes and sound are undeniable though. You'd have to have your head buried in the sand (with the other root vegetables) not to pick up on that. All the best and thanks for this. PS - I rather like the AI toilet humour, but your point is well made.

@@sinclairwhitbourne2090 Thanks, I know, I should not respond to negativity. I never claimed any of this to be truly deep and meaningful. The counter-intuitive thing about AI music is that if you try to make something that is awful and wrong in a funny way, it comes out great but when you try to make something that is supposed to be realistic or good, it sounds like dogshit. At first listen, this does sound like the most hackneyed, generic prog rock by an actual mediocre band, but the more you listen, the more it turns to slop. It's bad enough to be boring, but not bad enough to be good or fun.
@ToneHobart2 ай бұрын
I suppose I could have done what everyone else does... Add fecees or body parts humor. that seems to be real popular these days. yea, maybe more entertaining to a 5 year old but that's not really what I am attempting to accomplish. Yes, some songs are better than others, but we keep trying to improve.
@pureevilfnord2 ай бұрын
@@ToneHobart AI lacks what it takes to make "good" music. It's not going to make "Tales Of Topographical Oceans" or even the worst album Kansas ever made. As a matter of fact, AI songs are actually sounding worse and worse as time goes on as they are starting to feed on themselves more and more. They don't stand up to repeated listening. What they DO work for is making something that is either a quick, cheap disposable laugh or if you need music that sounds bland and formulaic to go in a background somewhere. I mean, I appreciate you experimenting, but the result is fairly un-listenable as music, but sort of interesting as an experiment, but it was hard to get through the whole thing. Maybe go out on a limb and write some interesting lyrics because AI is only going to come up with greeting-card platitudes. Give people at least one human-made element because that is what makes music enjoyable. I've made a metric ton of AI songs and the only ones that worked were when I tried to make bland, generic supermarket Muzak or wrote the lyrics myself.

@@pureevilfnord Forgive me for being honest with you, but if you don't have good enough musical taste to appreciate a good album or a good song, don't try to get in the way of the work of people who do.

@@emilioprogressive I have over 3000 vinyl records, and cds and hard drives full of dvds. I have been in 3 different bands, two of them playing psychedelic rock. I have worked in a record store and written about 150 songs and compose soundtrack music for audio dramas. Art is subjective, but I have had 40 years experience listening to psychedelic music of all kinds. To me, this album sounds like mush and the lyrics sound like pablum. Here's an experiment. Burn off some copies of your album as a CD and send them to music critics or psychedelic bands and don't tell them it's AI and see what happens. If you don't have the patience to learn an instrument, write songs and lyrics and learn to play with other musicians, maybe you shouldn't pretend that you are making music. You are making a simulation of music and it sounds like it.

@@pureevilfnord Well, considering all this background you have, I apologize for my previous comments. I am also a lover of psychedelic rock and progressive rock. I confess that I had not heard of this band before, and I have only listened to it once here on KZbin... and although I found it interesting the first time I listened, I should listen to it more carefully to see if it really is what it sounded like to me the first time I listened.
