Spending a day in Blackpool with a coach load of friends from the red nose, working men’s club in reddish. Me and Simon go our own ways to find some wonderful places to review. We found this famous £1 burger I decided to see if it was what everybody else says it is.

We took the kids to Blackpool for a cheap holiday about 20 years ago and got sick of paying £30+ A night for food for 4 of us and came across a £1 burge bar (I assume it was the same guy but I don't remember if it was the same location) and everything was £1, and I remember us all being astounded on the quality for the money we paid, I'll admit that on one occasion we visited the burger stand 3 times in one day. I was so glad after coming home when we found a local chip shop that sold the same hot dog sausages that he was using. I remember all the food we bought was as good as burgers we were paying £3-£4 a time for elsewhere. I wonder if the standard is as good now though. A long overdue trip to Blackpool is in order. I could introduce the grandkids to the £1 burger.

I would definitely introduce your children to this burger it’s amazing, we went back that day and got another one each, it will be my first stop every time I go to Blackpool 👍🍔🌭

@@Stockybloke nice one. And we are planning a holiday with the grandkids if not this year it will be next year. A lot of people turn their nose up at Blackpool but I've always loved it there. I have been back to Blackpool quite a lot in the last 20 years and it's been about 8 years since I've been, only due to health reasons (I won't bore you with the full details, I'll just say I nearly died 3 times on separate occasions and have lost body parts including a leg along with COVID trying it's hardest to finish me iff) so I have had good reason not to have been back for 8 years, but I will be so glad to be back. Blackpool is the only place I know where the weather could be amazing, or a bit cloudy and drizzly or even full on pissing it down, and you can still have the best time ever. There's always something to do. Whether you have a big budget or only a few quid in your pocket you can have fun, and as these burgers prove, you can always afford something to eat! I think this guy does this £1 menu, bit to make profit, because he's making next to nothing let's face it. I think he dies it to provide a service because with what he does, he's making sure everyone no matter how skint they are can go to Blackpool and get some hit food in their belly. I think he dies it to provide that service and for the fun of it. He looks like he loves what he does and he lives meeting everyone who comes by. How he was with you, and the other KZbinrs etc, he is no different anyone else who buys a burger. He's full of joy and has got a joke for everyone. I think he lives putting a smile on people's faces and he would do what he does for free if he could. I've seen him on other videos saying he makes a profit on those burgers, but think if he does Its pennies. I think his profit comes from the cheese burgers. Which is what I'll be tucking in to next time I'm there. And just like you I will be returning for a second burger or a hot dog. I love them hot dogs. Love the vids by the way. I'm subscribing.

@@elizaphe58 It's exactly what it is - a burger van Bookers Basic burger. He keeps it at £1 as the volume of custom he gets allows him to. I've seen the queue to his place be 40 or 50 people deep most of the day during the summer season.

That’s his secret 🤫 They are the same burgers I used to get at the funfair when I was a lot younger, and very tasty and the bun/barm cake. 😋

I know where he gets them, I'm local and occasionally see him out and about. All I can say is that his burger is no different to most used by burger vans and takeaways across the U.K. What he has though is an incredible volume of sales and minimal overheads; he can charge £1 and make a small profit each time. Soon adds up.
