I lost ny mom to breast cancer two years ago right before my daughter was born. This song feels like a conversation with her. December 21st she would've been 62

this song and this song alone inspired me to make my motw character a single dad. he's a soldier off at war (based on red vs blue, a halo series) and left his 10-year-old daughter under the care of his moms. he misses her a lot but wants to protect her even though he's becoming the leader of a rebellion. it's very likely that he may even die and has come very close to it. this song now very much hurts my heart

I'm writing a book where my main character has a somewhat messy family situation. Her dad left before he even knew she existed due to his own backstory and so she grew up with just her mother. Her mother always wanted her to meet her father even though he had left with seemingly no trace and when the mother finally figured out where he had gone she left to find him and promised her daughter she'd return. But she ended up getting killed by someone (I haven't decided who yet) and never returned leaving my main character with a lot of responsibility (long story involving the last group of dragons and her family line) and as an orphan. I imagined this song as her mother's ghost regretting her decisions and wishing she could protect her daughter.

My grandma, the most important person to me, passed in 2013. She had taken me in when the state removed me from my parents for abuse in the 00s. Without her the world felt impossible to face. I made an attempt on my life exactly one week after she died: September 13th, 2013. I didn't feel "strong enough". I still don't. But I'm trying...

I lost my dad almost two years ago (October) to a heart attack while he was out of town. This song makes me think of him. There is so much I want to ask him and that I've wanted him to be there for, so much would be different with him around, but at least I know where he's at. And I know he's proud.

The way this song is Míriel singing to Fëanor, and Maglor singing to Elrond & Elros, and and Elwing singing to Elrond & Elros, and Théoden to Éowyn,, nd Elrond to Arwen, and Belladonna to Bilbo, and Bilbo to Frodo, and Frodo to Sam (but specially Míriel to Fëanor).
