THINK!! Ok, first have a theory that in tadc pilot, the exit door disappears when someone is in it. Bcs as you can see when Pomni entered the exit door, it disappeared seconds later, which means that at the beginning, when she first saw the exit door and it disappeared, Kaufmo entered the exit that exact moment and that's when he went crazy, running thru the infinite office. Second, at 56:11, you could see Jax's face soften while Ragatha was talking about Kaufmos' funeral, Kaufmo must've been important to Jax, and Jax got too emotional and he couldn't show that as his character is supposed to be "Tough and sassy" so he didn't want to seem sensitive, which is why he didnt attend the funeral. I think the nightmare is showing that she's scared that living in there means she doesn't have any value like a normal human anymore and get abstracted is just so usual, no one really care in the end. But then at the end she realize that the people there(except Jax) at least still treat each other like normal human and it make her feel a bit better.

27:48 there's a few ways to look at what you said, 1: if you meant why doesn't he release them into the real world and let them take off their headsets, he cant, its been confirmed that Cain isnt evil, so he would let anybody free if they wanted if he knew how. 2: if you meant release them with the other characters, he wont because they're dangerous. 3: if you meant un-abstract them and release them with the other characters, he cant, he said himself the only thing he doesn't have control over are their minds.

I have a mini theory My theory is that when pomni was in the void she was actually escaping the circus. Like when caine said, they will spoil i think he ment the game will be spoiled and she will leave. My other mini theory is that the exit door that she found on caines tour was the actual exit and thats why it was orange and why caine was so nervous talking about that exit

Something else that seems interesting about the pilot that I didn't really pay much mind to is in the theme song, it sings "day after day... and we don't know why" which is super weird, like, as a computer program, shouldn't Caine know why he's supposed to do what he's doing? Like, Gummygoo knows he's supposed to get the syrup to save his village, The Fudge knows he's supposed to get into the kingdom to eat people, the princess knows she's supposed to get the syrup from the bandits to save her people, so why would Caine not know what he's supposed to be doing?

There's a chance that Jax is a npc but its only because he didn't care about going to Kaufmo's funeral and he didn't help pull Pomni out (as a false foreshadowing that he might be a npc after all) and knowingly when npc's die or get deleted they rarely get funerals he didn't care to take the opportunity to join in, this can also prove that on the look of Caine's face he might have deleted yet killed an actual person on accident (Gummigoo). This is just some lore I pulled out from other weeks but I'm not so sure so let's just wait till our answers are told.....by the episodes of course.
