You definitely have the most elaborately produced Excel videos (with all the graphics stuff). You can argue if it's always necessary, but it looks really good and certainly makes it easier for some to understand the functionality of the formulas. Good work.

Hi Nabil, I really enjoyed the video about the FILTERXML function and learned a lot from its explanations. However, data validation - 1;2;3;4;5;6;7;8;9;10;11;12;13;14;15;16;17;18;19;20;Last - existing in cell C1, of the «Extract» spreadsheet, there is a small error in the last argument: the word "Last" must be replaced by "last()" (in lowercase) and everything is fine. 🤗

Many thanks - very useful. Just one query on how you use the INDEX function to append the tables. INDEX takes a row argument and then a column argument. But you use the SEQUENCE function from the clipboard as just the row argument, and with no column argument. How is that returning the correct Row and Column positioning for the elements of the table?

In the formulas, I have replaced A1 with A1:A14. However, this change doesn't work, and I do not understand why it doesn't. The sequence function is great for appending the 3 sheets. If excel 2016 is used, what formula can be used then to replace the sequence(49,5) used here ? Any idea?

To my knowledge, there are functions to increment vertically OR Horizontally only. I created a tutorial about that sometime ago. But the sequence function increments in both directions.

Dear Nabil, I couldn't do the combination of tables correctly, using the FILTERXML function, if one of them has a different number of columns than the others and, therefore, I didn't understand the use of the MAX function, in the example of the «Append» spreadsheet, to calculate the greater number of columns in the tables, if they are not identical. Is there any way to combine tables with different columns using the FILTERXML function? I appreciate any help. 🤗

Although I mentioned that the columns function will return the maximum number of columns in case they are different, but, practically speaking why would I append 2 tables if they do not have the same fields?

Hi Nabil. What an awesome set of examples! As you demonstrated, FILTERXML is a hidden gem of a function that is very powerful, once you understand how to structure it. When I first started using it, I defined the syntax with or . Then I heard a reference to the elements being "parent" and "child". So, now I use which gives me an immediate reminder of the order and the relationships.. it works for me. Your examples are great for demonstrating what is possible. @@Officeinstructor Hi Nabil. Always glad to visit your channel where I learn something new every time. I discovered a few more tricks for the xpath argument of FILTERXML. In your workbook, you demonstrated extracting the first (or nth) and last items using "//c[1]" and "//c[last()]". It is also possible to return say the first 4 items using: "//c[position()=5]". There are many other parameters possible. Great stuff! Thanks again :))
