I like thinking the reason marshmallow and pear look glitchy is just that even orange doesn't accept they are long gone, so he erases the memory of them even if reality is different. Nobody is safe from being truly forgotten by as time goes on by some point, food always has an expiration date. Their legacy was truly over and apple was the only one rejecting the idea until the very end.

A look at each of the lyrics “Molded, Rotting, Slowly Decaying” - obviously this can be taken from the actual fruits themself slowly deteriorating and rotting over the many years annoying orange has existed, but from a broader viewpoint its Orange explaining the deterioration of the channel and KZbin over the years as it slowly became less about creativity and fun and more about feeding the cycle of content farming and trend riding to produce easy content, which AO itself fell victim to. “Each pun and each line, was it all worth pretending?” - This line itself is interesting as it seems like Orange is questioning if his career was worth it to pretend to be the exact same person he was since the creation of the series, which spanned many years, which would cause Oranges character to become old and stale as the series continued. “They are no longer here” - In the mod itself this is referring to the various foods apart of the main AO cast that became rotted or disappeared, leaving only Apple and Orange, but again from a broader perspective this is Orange talking directly to Apple explaining that the audience that was apart of Annoying Oranges era is no longer young and they’ve all moved on, theres no longer the same crowd that watched AO “Oh buddy, Our legacy, it’s Over.” - My favorite lyric as it solidifies Oranges motivations and goals when speaking to Apple. Him calling Apple “buddy” isn’t meant to be in a mocking way but is Orange genuinely trying to convince not only Apple, but his creator, to move on. Orange has accepted that their legacy and golden age has long been past its prime and it’s time for them to just give up. There’s no need to fight change as Orange can let his legacy live on for what it was in its golden years, instead of fighting change and becoming more rotten as time passes by. Basically Apple symbolizes the current state of AO, not wanting to move on, while Orange symbolizes acceptance and the need for the channel to finally rest and not fall into the pit of content farming any further.
