In another interview and an article he clearly stated that he did a lot of the stunts himself about 60-65%. That is what I call dedication and commitment. He is a person and actor hollywood needs more of: honest, humble, intelligent, witty, respectful and not afraid to make a fool of himself; personally, I think he brought out all aspects of peter's personality, much more realisticaly and naturally than tobey ever could. Him being drop dead gorgeous is of course a huge plus! I wish him the best.

In my opinion, Tobey was a pretty good Peter/Spiderman and when I heard about Andrew I wasn't too convinced. I saw the movie yesterday and I was just blown out of my mind. Andrew's portrayal fits the description of Peter Parker not just physically, but psychologically in a much better way than Tobey's. andrew is a freakin great spiderman(:

The other Spider-Man movies showed him being a scientific genius. He had a discussion with a scientific genius doc ock and he knew enough about his work to warn him that he something was going to go wrong. Doc Ock allowed Peter to talk to him because that another scientific genius Dr. Connors told him that Peter was such a genius and that he worked with him as well. Would a typical nerd get praise from other scientific geniuses, be able to hold a conversation with them, and work with them?

I think the reboot will hit the nail on the head for who Spider-Man is. Or at least who he come to be in the comics. He's witty, a physics and chemistry genius, and because of his new found powers he's incredibly acrobatic. What better way to showcase that than by giving him a skill set (skateboarding) that while not consistent with comics is a not very costly way of showing he's gained some cool skills, plus I love that they're focusing less on the love story.

I'm glad you admited that you were wrong, as you are about many things. It takes a mature person to admit that they were wrong. You might be growing up my young friend. Garfield was nominated for a Golden Globe and SAG award and won several other awards for his role in the Social Network. So he does have some power in Hollywood. Either he or the director doesn't care about the portal of the character. Peter can have hobbies, but he does like not skating or anything athletic. He likes science.

It takes more than a highschool level of knowledge to actually create and engineer technology of the caliber that SPider-Man uses. With the blue prints. Peter Parker made previously unknown technology a reality and he made it small enough to fit on his wrist. That is not something we see in the Sam Raimi films and that is why I think this representation is more fatihful to the comics.

Since the move will not be out for a few days some of the things you like about it is speculation. Take the love story for example. They could focus more on it than you think. Gwen is in the trailers and clips a lot. Also, don't you think that his fellow students might suspect Peter (a guy who was never good at anything athletic) who now is all of a sudden an expert skater and basketball player of being Spider-Man?

I did never said that Peter skating takes away from the fact that he is a science whiz. I said it takes away from the fact that Peter is not athletic, he is physically awkward, he has no interest in sports, he is poor, and he is just plan not the skater type. Peter was portrayed as a science whiz in the Raimi films. In fact that's a line from the first movie. Norman Osborn called Peter a "science whiz". In 2 he had a long conversation with Doc Ock about science. In 2&3 he helped Dr. Connors.

You're right, but the thing is that it takes actual inference to get to your point. They never show him doing anything scientific and Raimi downplays it in the movie. So it's kind of like "Oh hey, side note Parkers pretty smart. A genius actually. And now back to his love story with Mary Jane."

As I said before, it's much more than just the fact that he is a skater. If you read my very first comment on this video a week ago you would have seen that I said that being a skater is ONE aspect of the character that the movie got wrong. If he is a skater in the Ultimate Spider-Man comic, then that's an aspect of the character that Bendis got wrong. I would wait to see if it's any good before wanting for it to succeed. If it sucks, (which i predict it will) then I want it to fail.

He was intially born in Los Angeles California, his mother is from essex in england and his father from california, he moved to england when he was three years old and brought up in england. So therefore he is american. I'd say he's more british, being born somewhere doesn't naturally define you but I guess thats what his birth certificate would say. American. Although he has both British & American Citezenship.

It's reflected in the fashion style, the rapidly increasing mainstream popularity of comics and love of films about these kind of characters etc. So for Peter to still be an outcast and school bully victim there is no way he can realistically be a nerd. I think the way the film portrays him is much better this way and I bet if Marvel do a reboot similar to DC, Peter may have to be portrayed differently to fit into our perceptions of outcasts in mo

and just because parker skates doesn't take away from the fact that he is a science whiz, in fact, that aspect of peter is even more developed than in the first spider-man movie, where he was portrayed as a typical highschool nerd when he was so much more than that, i think the scientific aspect of peter is more important than the nerd aspect and thats why they focused on that more
