My wife’s mother had knee replacement surgery in July and we came to help take care of her during her recovery. We were able to do a two day one night excursion to Mindo! We went to the waterfalls, but we had our youngest son(2 1/2years) so we went to the left trail as it was a shorter trek to get to a waterfall

Mindo is great for the amount of things to see and do. I had the chance to zip-line for the first time ever and loved it. Great video of the Touccans. We had a Touccan in our papaya tree around 10:30 in the morning about a month ago which is a rarety. We are west of Mindo and love the variety of birds and lizards.

Just come back from Mindo, and went birding with Andersson. He was one of the best drivers I experienced in Ecuador, but he needs to hone his birding skills. He misidentified several species which (fortunately I try to photograph as many as possible) which I correctly identified using those photos and my bird book. Sad that I knew more about some of the birds than a local. Anyway, I love your videos and saw a lot of them before my Ecuador trip, which helped me know what to expect. I will be back and will hopefully bird Quayaquil and more of the Amazon basin. Amazing birds!

Thanks for another superb video showing off Ecuador's amazing pájaros. I work for Audubon's Seabird Institute in the Northeast (though am only a mediocre birder) and have hoped to see toucans with my wife in Ecuador for a long time. On prior attempts near Cuenca, heard them but never saw one. This inspires us to keep searching and, eventually, to make the trip to Minda too. Please keep making videos of Ecuador's natural beauty. They will be timeless.

Mindo may be the best birding or at least the most accessible birding location in Ecuador. Highly recommend it 👍

Amelia and JP, this has to be the best video on Ecuador, and you have had many. Why not ask Metropolitan Touring of Ecuador to sponsor you on a 4 day tour of their Mashpi Lodge in the Mindo region. You will probably have to make a two or three part series to include all the niceties of the lodge and dining experience not to mention all the day and night activities of the lodge. It is a slice of heaven! If that works well, you can ask Metropolitan Touring for a promotional trip on M/V Santa Cruise II of the Galápagos Islands.

We do have amazing waterfalls. If you're in Patate (province of Tungurahua) I would definitely go to Cascada Mundug. Or If you're on the road from Baños to Puyo you can go to Cascada Kilo which is right before arriving in Mera. That one has a very short trekk of maybe 10 minutes.

I always love visiting Mindo. The both of you need to go to Banos and visit the El Pailón del Diablo..huge amazing waterfall with a hanging rope bridge that is pretty high up that crosses the river to add to the adventure! The birds are beautiful in Mindo. For another adventure fly to Iguazu Brazil for the waterfalls there plus a huge bird sanctuary. You walk through the park and your in the middle of hundreds of red and blue Parrots, Macaws, Black Toucans...absolutely amazing. Loved this cable car ride. Did it earlier this year in Mindo. Thanks for the memory! Keep shooting those videos.. and mini? Drone...

That was a great video! I appreciate your work, because I'm sure you'd prefer to just enjoy the moment instead of capturing your hike for us. Thanks, again! I felt like I was there with you. :) My parents are from Quito originally and I grew up here in the US. Maybe, I'll make a trip to Ecuador, to see if I'd like to live in my ancestor's land some day. :D I heard you say in one of your videos that you had back surgery and had to re-learn to walk. I was worried that the hike may injure your back, but I see that you're a fearless dare-devil! It's beautiful to see how much you two love each other. I wish you two all happiness that life brings!
