This was like 20 years ago. This guy probably knew the founding fathers. Rip.

The expressions "non sequitur" and "preaching to the choir" come to mind.

This video is well worth watching for history teachers. It rightly points out that the Founders were Enlightenment thinkers who had significantly mixed views about religion. I tell my students that the U.S. is not technically a "Christian" nation in the orthodox sense because the religious views in early America were already getting more and more diverse. Professor Patell rightly points out the heavy influence of Deism among many founders. Some founders may have been orthodox, many not!

Franklin liked that metaphor of the erratum so much he put it on his epitaph. I hope the Author makes favourable edits for both of us!...too many bad chiefs and not enough Indians in America!...

I only counted one. I'd say that's quite a low number.

It's too bad that the people who think this vid is too long don't have time to become educated. That's ok, most people can get through life without knowlege. You can spot them fairly easily, and if you're lucky you'll find yourself competing with one of them for a really good job someday.
