The AMX-003 Gaza-C Haman Karn Custom

The AMX-003 Gaza-C would serve as the primary front-line combat mobile suit for the Axis forces during the Gryps Conflict, and during the early part First Neo Zeon War. However, as the resources available to Neo Zeon's military grew, production of the Gaza-C ceased due to deficiencies in the frame's design. One major problem with the Gaza-C is that due to its flimsy construction, the mobile suit would literally fall apart after using its transformation systems only a few times; the average lifespan of a Gaza-C would be three combat missions. This flaw was remedied in later Gaza models. Yet the design of the Gaza-C was popular enough that it served as the basis for a number of mobile suits Neo Zeon would field during the First Neo Zeon War, It estimated that nearly 250 Gaza-C units were produced. One of the units was briefly used by Haman Karn as her personal unit and painted in her colors.

These movie scenes look nice, but it always bugged me that they were mixed between old and new animation during the films. I wish they had used the same animation throughout the film because going back and forth is so noticeable.

Only in original Zeta and ZZ Haman pilots her Quebely except that one time while under her disguise she piloted an Acguy in ZZ. The only other Mobile Suit she piloted was a modified Rick Dom called Psycommu Rick Dom (or aka Schnee Weiss) in Char's deleted affair.

I've never really cared for the Gaza family of mobile suits. Just not a big fan of the design. But add in the in-universe problems with their transformation technology too, it just makes me wonder what the hell Axis was thinking actually mass producing them.

@@beefueater4586 Yeah but that doesn't explain why they would choose to mass produce a mobile suit that they know has serious mechanical problems. Unless the whole issue with the transformation system is something that was just added as flavor text for source books and wasn't originally part of the show, I can't remember.

Transformable suits were new at the time so it was mostly a power move to show up after being MIA with a bunch of transformable suits. Whoever they're going against probably wouldn't know that the suit could only handle a few transformations before breaking.

@@DragonEXtwo That line of thinking does have some merit. I get that. But if we compare mobile suits to real world fighter craft, each machine costs millions of dollars and the pilots requite months to years of training. That's a tremendous amount of resources to devote to machines that are prone to severe mechanical failure after only a few uses. Not trying to be rude or dismissive of you or anything, I just don't think that's enough of a reason to mass produce a machine like this. Furthermore on my previous point, Axis had fairly limited personnel at that point, being made up largely of the military forces of the old Principality that had survived the OYW and fled side 3 after the war's end. Presumably there were the families of those soldiers too. But they didn't have the enormous population to draw on. All the more reason to make sure what troops you do have, have the most reliable equipment you can manage. Then again, Haman did not prove herself the most rational leader - so that might have been part of the reason.

They didn't have the production means or facilities. Everything was in Side 3. To over come this they had to make things from sractch. So to make production easier & cheap. They developed the Gaza with bare means necessities in mind. Thrusters, hands & a gun. It's transformation was to utilize it's thrusters in a more efficient way when in it's MA mode for long distance travel. This was also so Axis Zeon could produce large quantities of this MS, Axis wasn't so short on man power as it was MS. So the Gaza was designed with overwhelming force of numbers in mind. Once AZ returned to Earth. They were able to secure resources & equipment for better production by making deals with the Titans. Once the Titans were defeated AZ pretty much was the big kid on the block by then.

thats y they were produced during the 1st neo zeon war, they were upgraded from gaza c edit: it wasnt just a variant, gaza d is a complete overhaul from gaza c, with its transforming capability being the overhaul's main focus

おかしくはないですね。むしろ理にかなった戦法だったりします。 たしかにキュベレイはありますけど、ぶっちゃけ今回挨拶なのでわざわざそんな切り札でもある高級機を出す必要がないんです。 確かに目立ちはしますが、敵に不必要に情報を与えてしまいます。(例え戦闘を行わなくても、武器を持っていない事から武装内蔵式ではないか、またシャアがいるので、あれは完成したファンネル搭載機ではないかとバラされる　など、初見殺しのオンパレードなキュベレイの長所が潰れる可能性は大いにあります) なので総帥としての威厳を出し、なおかつ不必要に情報を与えないのなら専用カラーの量産機、つまりガザCがベストなわけです。

I prefer to imagine a storyline where Haman isn't a psychotic mass murderer and the AEUG actually does ally with Axis, winning the war, leading to the re-establishment of Zeon. I feel like that could have led to a very interesting alternative timeline.

Take Char out of the picture and have a sane leader for Axis and I think things would have been very differently.
