When I started learning more about Buddhism, I was amazed how profound it is. But to practice to the level of Arahatship looks very very difficult for lay practitioners. I was so happy to find this dharma door. It truly makes me understand why we cannot fathom the wisdom and compassionate of Buddhas and boddhisattvas. It also mirrors all the teaching of Buddha into this simple name. Namo Amitabha Buddha.

There are many findings writ down for the lamen to read and practice. I have been one of those lamen. Yet, there is a powerful teaching that through great strife and perilous moments of great pain and anguish that has taught me mountains of wisdom that can not be taught in any book or scroll. These teachings have transformed my life many times, and many aspects of my ego, self, being are almost perfected. These achievements only find me at a time of ending or death, is the length of duration to reach this level. When I started this path, I was a young man. I gave up my place in a great inheritance and spoils of wealth. I had started at rock bottom, zero. The event of struggle and begging give the first lessons. Humility, a new way of looking at those who are struggling, gives gratefulness for what you do have no matter how little. A lighter gives hope, light, warmth, even food to the skilled. If your interested in knowing more, all but need is ask. I will openly share all that has helped me become nothing more than the tree, ocean, tornado, flame. Peace and prosperity be upon you all.

Japanese Pure Land Buddhism is a tool for memorializing ancestors, but this video is wonderful. By the way, if there really is a Pure Land, it must exist beyond the real universe that can be observed by the astronomical telescope. This is because the Buddha who suddenly began to talk that there is a Pure Land is a real person, and he is not someone who has return from the world after death. Beyond the countless Buddha lands (that is, the planets of the awakened ones) in the universe, the Pure Land of Bliss must be the world of the peak of awakening.

This is what I concluded: we must create a new society, to avoid this civilization traps. But in order to create this new society, we must first have a new mentality and behaviour, otherwise if we go and live in a self sufficient community but with the same mentality, that wouldn't work.
@SpiritualReform Жыл бұрын
Be careful here, cos the same has been proposed many times in the past, and the results, that we know of, were not always as many would expect. Well, in fact, present world elites are presently proposing something similar, and their idea is to get rid of the human emotions, for they see them as a problem. I'm not kidding you. But you're right, we'd need first change our ways, our mentality; or the same mistakes and failures would repeat over and over again. Now, rather i'd propose not to create a new society, but to allow a new society to develop on its own. But first by allowing ourselves to become our true individual selves. For it is through self awareness and understanding of self that we can ever change ourselves and be able to live together and as a thriving society. Thus, attention to self (not the ego) must come first. If you haven't allowed yourself to develop, then you cannot grow or live in peace and in agreement within a community.

The purpose of Pure Land Buddhism is to be reborn in the Pure Land. One of the highest and most efficient Buddhist colleges in the Dharma world. After enrolling, under the teachings of Amitabha and other Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, "the joy of the Mahayana Dharma will never be reversed, the countless actions and wishes will be increased, and the supreme enlightenment will be quickly realized." Therefore, the focus of Pure Land sect’s current practice is not the Bodhisattva’s Six Perfections and Ten Thousand Deeds, but the deep belief and earnest desire in the merits and values of the Buddha and the Land of Ultimate Bliss, so as to obtain the kindness and blessings of Amitabha Buddha’s saints, and be guided to be reborn in the Ultimate Bliss World. He has an infinite lifespan and will never turn back. He will definitely achieve the Mahayana vows of infinite wisdom, compassion, and even become a Buddha.

In a nutshell, sentient beings have all accumulated more karma than virtues that could allow them to be released from this karmic matrix. This means we are doomed to be trapped in this eternal cycle of births and deaths. Sometimes reborn as humans or even as higher intelligent species that we called angels, but most of the time as lower forms of animal species that suffers as a result of struggles between predators and preys. Amitabuddha's Pureland is the only hope for all sentient beings to escape from this matrix of endless cycles of births and deaths into countless forms of countless species within this matrix, and the only way to do so before you attain Buddhahood to enable you the ability to break out of this matrix by yourself. Hardly any sentient beings could attain enlightenment to Buddhahood to be able to break free from this matrix prison of eternal rebirths and deaths. So it makes perfect sense that Amitabuddha for endless times had came up with this one and only plan for sentient beings to be rescued to His Pureland where all sentient beings will be reborn to the utmost perfection in form and in spirit equally that far exceeds those so-called angels within the heavenly realms created by this imperfect matrix. Sentient beings will have all the times in the world or bliss in the Pureland to train themselves towards the ultimate enlightenment for Nirvana without being brutally and rudely interrupted by frequent cycles of births and deaths where all their memories are wiped clean and has to start from square one all over again.

In a forward of a book titled "Contemplative Prayer" by Christian/Catholic Monk Thomas Merton; Thich Nhat Hanh describes "Pure Land Bhuddism" in a comparative way of the Christian Monk. Thich Nhat evidently studied how Thomas Merton had gone deep in his own Christian roots before the great Schism between the Catholic Eastern and Western Church one thousand years ago. A desert father named St Macarius is cited by Thich Nhat as having said: "There is no other perfect meditation than the saving and blessed name of our Lord Jesus Christ dwelling without interruption in you." Christians call this practice "Interior Recollection" Thich Nhat described the "Pure Land Tradition" of Bhuddism as similar because Bhuddists know that what is most essential is to maintain true concentration while reciting the name of "Bhudda".

Thanks for contemplating about it, just to clarify, Pureland does not conflict with the Nobeltruth at all. The Noble Truth and the Eightfold paths are NOT designed for layman whom most of us are, probably 99% of population of mankind. To practice Noble truth and the 8 path successfully, you're required to accomulate a lot of merits which are likely more than lifetime , once you have a strong foundation of merits which accumulate through Right views, Right intention, Right speech, Right action, Right livelihood, then you're able to move on the next 3. Not only that one of the fundamental thing you have to practice is PRECEPT which is extremely hard for most people. There are more than 200 Precepts to keep for an ordained monk, there are 5 fundamental Precepts for normal layman and most of us are unlikely to keep it clean, let alone 200. In other words, this Noble truth and eightfold path are DESIGNED for the very few people, such the disciples of the Buddha in the past and some but DEFINITELY NOT for layman. All the Buddha in the universe know this, this is why Amitabha Buddha come into place. His vow is to help not few people, but the rest of us who are NOT able to cultivate the Noble truth and Eightfold path
@TheKalihiMan Жыл бұрын
@@java1708If I may add, the founder of the Jodo Shinshu sect Shinran taught that the world was so karmically corrupt that no person could pursue the Bodhisattva path of their own efforts. He taught that it was not only unlikely for a layperson to pursue this path, but that even the most virtuous could not do it on their own, and even that all deliberate efforts toward this end were rooted in a selfish desire for one’s own salvation and therefore not borne out of selflessness (which is required to pursue the Bodhisattva path). Therefore, it was his understanding that only the full trust in Amitabha could truly lead one toward enlightenment.

@@TheKalihiMan Thanks for the great info mate, you're exactly right, I feel a bit unfortunate for the West who just learn about Buddhism, especially Pureland because they don't have access to the real information of the Pureland and worst of all, they probaby think Pureland is "something similar to Christian or Catholic..." which of course is not.
@beatesubasinghe82294 ай бұрын
Why is greed and anger absent in pureland? Because only beings are reborn there, who have reached a partial state of awakening and practise there until the final goal. Only the aspiration to be born there is not sufficient! Even without the aspiration you are born there if you fulfill the conditions. The Buddha tought the doctrine of cause and effect. The danger in this practice is that we pray to Amithaba like to God, which is easier than doing the work ourselves.
