Ya... under rated at the time it is certainly jewel of a film... I think Tom stumbled a bit on entry to Sci-Fi but he didn't give up resulting in this and Oblivion which is a Masterwork to the last detail... I was never a Tom C fan or hater... I don't go to films based on whos in them... But I've been watching Top Gun 2022 every chance I get before it leaves theaters. I almost skipped it because I'm Very old and saw the original when it was in theaters.... It's remakes or additions to mega films like that almost Never go well... I was bored one day and I could have turned right and stepped into the theater or gone left to look at all the hot young girls in the food court. I decides the chicks will always be there... So I turned right to check it out... And Damn... I've see it now 3 times... the 2nd time I saw it back to back... I can't drop any spoilers here.... but I will Highly Recommend it ...

What keeps amusing me is that she became that legendary 'Angel of Verdun' mainly because on her first day in battle she got an alpha mimic's blood mixed with hers. Thanks to that she could relive that day again and again and know every move of mimics on the battlefield. But for that she would have been killed like thousands other rookies.

This movie is in the top 20 sci-fi movies of all time, IMHO. It is in my personal top 5, right alongside Gattaca. Loved the character growth. Crazy as Tom is in real life, where he took this character from beginning to end was pretty amazing. And I became a fan of Emily Blunt's work after this. Favorite scene is Tom crawling away with a broken leg trying to reassure her he is okay as she walks up to him and chambers a round. Then, blam.

Yea see, this movie is a paradox. Even with people like Blunt & Cruise on our side where they get to keep retrying day after day. The Mimics have already done all of this and would know what to, and what not to do long before either of them obtained their ability (Blunt & Cruise) So realistically we already lost this war.
@RAZR_Channel6 ай бұрын
that depends on how you look at time. If it is the first time through the timeline … Then it's the first time for both sides. but if the timeline has already been completed then you're correct.… It won't matter. I can't remember if they clarified if when blunt requires time control that she takes it away from the omega or not. Only by taking it away from the Omega can she achieve the advantage. Or else they would both know the future. but that would be way too much to jam into an audience in roughly 2 hours. However it is implied that she has intercepted the omega's ability to see the future and by not seeing it it cannot win. That is how it would play out every time the omega goes to a new world. It would be its first time to that world and the first timeline within that world. So I think that is the approach that is implied here. Ultimately I don't think they really gave a shit if it made logical sense. Like all Tom Cruise movies… It just has to be entertaining… i'm still shocked at how sexy Blunt is. They did what they could get away with and it came out well. All the way down to her hairstyle in the back. And a lot of tail shots of her… the film as a whole: is a great watch… That's all that matters…
