These kittens weren’t really feral/wild, just unsocialized; I have fostered kittens that would literally try to climb the walls to get away from me when I went into their room.

@@strivingmuslimah3701 We work with a local shelter, so they have been caught (if feral) or brought in and we get them in a carrier. Once we get them home, we have a room they stay in. For very skittish animals like you describe, you have to use the food to draw them in. If you just leave food out, they don’t need to approach you. One method if you want to socialize them is to only put food out when you are there, and to slowly move the food towards you in order to get them to come near you. Eventually, you may be able to touch, pet, and socialize them, but it depends on the animal as there is a wide range of how wild and afraid of humans they can be. Puréed chicken baby food works well for very young kittens(several weeks). For older kittens and cats, you can try wet food.
