Don't beat on your car and then complain. Mine was built in May 2000 so it's 19.5 yrs old. In 2011 I repainted the car and use dry wash ceramic type product. The car has a ton of upgrades because I care. A new Mustang costs how much? I've had this car for 18yrs and total invested buying it plus maint and upgrades is around $18000. Car is near perfect. I love having it around. I have 5 vehicles plus a boat all kept very sound because I care. Gratitude is great preservative.

That Mustang has not been well taken care of. I have a 99 35th Anniversary that I’ve had since new and have none of the problems you’re pointing out. Also, it seems like that car is kept outside and got the rice burner, cheap aftermarket parts treatment. What did you expect?

Bro I promise you after 370k miles on my car, kept outside or not, it’s in better condition, than most new edges on the road today, and I guarantee yours as well, the problems I pointed out are common issues with these cars, as far as the bumper, it’s a factory 03 cobra bumper with the letters filled in, by far from rice inspired, and cheap aftermarket parts haha, buddy my cars’ build would buy your 99 anniversary mustang a few times as it sits today but I appreciate the feedback
@Joe-rx7ht4 жыл бұрын
Well, 370K miles is a lot of miles. I barely have 112K on mine. But then again, I do have an SUV and commute on my motorcycles every day. You did mention a previous owner. So, it seems like the previous owner just didn’t take care of it. I’m sure the engine on yours is sick though. Also, these cars are so easy to work on. I haven’t seen a mechanic for my Mustang in years. Everything I need to know about these cars is on KZbin. Just try to buy OEM and keep it out of the elements. And you’ll be fine. I’m actually thinking of selling my 35th and get myself a 03 or 04 SVT Cobra in silver. Cheers!

The timing chain guides and tensioners tend to go bad between 90-150k miles. Applies to the 4.6 2v,3v,4v and 5.4 2v and 3v. Starts as a faint ticking of rattling noise only at idle and usually on warm starts

@atbgaming83425 жыл бұрын
I've done a video on this as well. I also have some more to add when I get the chance. The drivetrain is actually really good (even with the timing chain tensioner issue) but the fit and finish are absolute garbage. I love my New Edge... fun car, but their interior is crap. This is fairly common with turn-of-the-century domestic cars across the board, however. The bigger deals are: the sealant in the rear floor pans shrinking and leaking on rainy days, the window stop bracket design causing window alignment issues (more notable on convertibles), and the design of the Ford Premium stereo in the convertibles. That has taken a while to iron out acoustically. Good video, man!
@ulisesc43884 жыл бұрын
Whats the timing chain tensioner problem?
@atbgaming83424 жыл бұрын
@@ulisesc4388 Some of the plastic tensioners lose pressure if you don't use a filter with backflow prevention, slacking the timing chain and causing wear of the timing guides. Pieces of the guides can stop up the oil pickup tube and cause oil starvation. The metal tensioners are ratcheting, fixing the problem. Also, if you buy any modular engine powered Ford used, you'd better hope it has a good maintenance record for oil changes, or major damage can occur to the bottom end. I did an ill-fated engine swap on mine 6 months ago, and it had a rod knock with fewer miles. I'm rebuilding the non-PI engine I took out of it and putting PI heads on. Should get closer to 300 at the crank. I miss driving mine, and can't wait to start wrenching on it to get her back.

I took some sandpaper and cleaned up the bald spots and painted them with a little primer for now. (hand painted with a model brush) the primer looks better than the rusty spots. Eventually I'll sand it smooth. I may have the entire car painted at some point, probably a different color.

I mean, you know, that "cheap interior," I mean, my car is 20 model years old now, and, I mean, it still looks good. I mean, it's loaded with hard plastic, but, I mean, it isn't falling apart or anything. Well, I mean, except for that plastic bezel in the driver's side door where the switches for the door locks and windows are. I mean, mine isn't as bad as the one in the video. I mean. you know, it just kind of pops out once in a while and I just, pop it back in to place. I mean, you know, it is kinda hard to say how crappy a 2019 Mustang interior will look in 2039 because, I mean, we'll have to wait 20 years to find out...... That "cheap interior" is one of the reasons why I like the New Edge. Simple. Easy to clean and maintain. My car has 227,000 miles on it. It's still my daily driver. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it across the country. Everything works like it is supposed to. It still runs like it always has. Still delivers the same fuel mileage it always has. I still like looking at it. I still like driving it as much now as I ever have. As long as the parts are available to keep the thing on the road, I'll just happily keep on driving it every single day with a massive grin on my face.
