Fresh off its run, the official cast recording brings you back to the production’s live staging by giving people the opportunity to hear the music of Excess and Despedida. 4 tracks from Excess, 7 tracks from Despedida - this 11-track album is sure to give you the complex emotions the musical makes you feel, as we explore 2 completely different stories that explore different aspects of love. With the book and music created by blueREP members, old and new, this completely original production is the first-ever blueREP-made production to have its music receive its very own official cast recording.
Synopsis of Excess:
When Penelope(Issa Iyog) discovers an engagement ring hiding in her boyfriend, Eric’s(Ron Balgos) closet, she begins to question whether or not she's ready to commit to the uncertain. Without her meaning to, her subconscious takes the form of her ex-partners, Cody (Mikee Remonquillo), Athena(Gabby Sandejas), and Rafa(Anthony Luna), all different people with different agendas. Forced to confront her past and eventually her future, Penelope asks herself, what is holding her back?
