I agree with few comments which articulate difference between anti hero and villains. Anti hero and villain are not the same. Anti hero is person that does right thing for wrong reason. Villain is is person that does wrong thing for wrong reasons.

The anti-hero differs form the villain, so i guess this is more the villain's journey, but interesting still

The Villain IS an anti-hero.. People have been using "anti-hero" inappropriately is the thing. The "dark hero" like batman, wolverine, latter-day Venom etc. are always _Called_ "anti-heros" but they Aren't ANTI-heros. They are just dark or tortured Heroes. The ANTI-hero functions to Negate or Suppress or Destroy or Subvert the Hero or the heroic. The antihero rejects everything the moral hero stands for because the moral hero is full of crap
@highdefinition450
@highdefinition450 2 жыл бұрын
@@Lu11abi The villain is purely antagonistic. Even if they have some redeeming qualities (they often don't), in the grand scheme of things, the villain, when given the choice, will NOT do the right thing. The anti-hero, however, is in a grey area. They do things not out of altruism like other heroes but mostly out of self-interest. They don't always act in morally righteous ways but at the end of the day, stories with anti-heroes often make them work for the greater good. Batman and Spider-Man are some of the most moral heroes out there. They refuse to kill and always work to protect the little guy. They will never betray their code of honor and the audience knows they will prevail. They are heroes. Deadpool (nowadays) has no qualms about killing and will often do what he wants. However, he sometimes does heroic things when they benefit him and the audience roots for him. He doesn't subscribe to good or evil. He is an anti-hero. Voldemort wanted to achieve blood dominance and kill all Muggle-born wizards. He has no redeeming qualities and would almost certainly never do the right thing. He is a villain.

@@Lu11abi This is a misconception that occurs when you try to dissect the word antihero instead of looking it up. It’s a literary devise that describes protagonists that are antithetical to the traditional hero. It is not a synonym for villain. An antihero is someone who takes the hero role begrudgingly and doesn’t follow traditional hero rules. The Punisher is an antihero. He’s not a villain, but he’s also not a hero, not in the traditional sense.

This is deffinetly the best how to write a villain video ever😁👍👍 well less how to write a villain and more how to write the conflict between the hero and villain or how to handle your inner demons. The hero is the one we’re supposed to relate to ourselves and when we get older start having our inner struggles until the demons within us become the villains of our story. Some people are lucky to comfront ultimatly defeat their demons while other’s give in and at worst become irredemeble monsters. Villains are the unlucky ones, not every villain is a fallen hero but they all come from somewhere and it’s always a person going through these struggles maybe even starting their own hero’s Journey but if they reach the crisis part the darkest hour in stories then that’s where ther’e Journey ends broken, crushed, filled with despair maybe forever😔 the part where he talks about how you’ll end up more loving towards yourself coupled with heart warning music is just so heart warming it makes feel the tears coming every single time😭😭😭 great video man g r e a t v i d e o 😉 😉 😉 20 out of 10 🏆

Totally Free of beliefs, philosophies, ideologies, theories, opinions, perspectives, biases, prejudices, nationality, and identifications, which limit, color, shape & distort Perception, and therefore, prevent Lucidity. Totally Free of the I, the me, the self, the observer, the chooser, the experiencer, the interpreter, and the so-called True or Higher Self, which is the invention of the past conditioning of the brain, which acts like an inner tyrant who tells you what to think, how to feel, and what to do. They actually treat everyone, without exception, with the same intensity and quality of care and affection that they would give their dearest closest friend, lover, or child, without any sense of division, separation or distance in daily life, once and for all, now forever. Inner Total Freedom is actually Living Love, Peace, Joy, Truth, Creativity, Compassion (Passion for All). Inner Total Freedom does not take time. It is not of time. It is not the result of time or the things of time. It is not the result of any method, ritual, or diet. It is not the result of any chemical. It is not the result of any process. There is no path to it. It happens effortlessly and choicelessly...faster than the speed of light. The True Light has no shadow. The True Light is not the opposite of darkness. There is no duality except of course for the duality invented by the I, the me, the self, the so-called True Self or Higher Self. The positive is still the negative. The good is still the bad. The heaven is still the hell. The reward is still the punishment. The light is still the darkness. Both are opposite sides of the same coin. Both are the inventions of thought, which is the reaction of memories, knowledge and experience, which is always limited. There is only what is, the isness, the fact, the act, the actual, what is actually taking place from moment to moment in daily life, free of any interpreter or censor. One comes into direct contact with the isness when the brain is Totally Free of right and wrong, good and bad, positive and negative, and light, darkness or shadows and when it is without any desire to change anything. It is this that opens the Door to a Whole New Way of Living rooted in Love and Wisdom in each and every moment of daily life.

We all contain an inner hero and anti-hero. It’s the nature of duality. These movies are only a projection of the internal battle of duality playing itself out within us. Integration, balance and wholeness is key. Balance is creating your reality through divine will from the lower chakras, divine wisdom from the higher chakras, through the middle chakra or middle path or narrow gate (center of torus around your heart chakra) of divine love or Christ. Using divine will plus divine wisdom to create through the heart and divine love, you will find balance. You become out of balance when one dominates such as will or wisdom without using the alchemy of the heart, or divine love.

Great breakdown. I have always been intrigued by the 'villain' and anti hero archetype as I see it so often everywhere I look. Victims of abuse and neglect (like myself) slowly descending like the joker. Victims becoming the monsters they once feared. I constantly and consciously choose to remain balanced in the center, it is my only sanity at this point. I have some hero aspects that guide me to a center space, but who's to say, if one day, I go villain due me giving into the darkness of wanting vengeance or justice that was never receieved.... with the amount of trauma I endured, I've been asked by some, "how are u still so compassionate? I would have gone dark if all that happened to me.", instead I chose to focus on self healing, self defense and self reflection. To intentionally hurt another physically, hurts me physically.( strong empathy) Loki and the Joker have always been my favorite archetypes to study because I can relate to the chaos one would like to inflict because ppl can be real dickholes sometimes...and I can relate to wanting to lash out on the bully archetype. I have a constant struggle/battle going on inside me. Become the darkness or remain light. the light aspect in me is too strong to give into the darkness completely. Though I am Intrigued by the darkness, I am not of it. Thank u for your vids. I look forward to more n the near future.

Tom i see your name is. Nice video. Love the insight into 'humanity'. So insightfull reminds my of some of Peterson's talks. We need tonkeep evil at bay. The innocent-evil to me is most interesting... because they are oblivious to how good intentions and action creates disaster... and i think, or wonder: is that 'mens rea' with negligence?

For me, because often times is dificult to find the 'right' action, the funtion of the villain was just to create a contrast for what NOT TO DO. But as you said they represent the dark side of the Hero. Interesting change... But hey! This hero-antihero dichotomy is so similar than the Cain and Abel storie. That can be consider kind of the fundation for a lot of stories where we see 2 polarities

I just recently learned about a theory(i guess) which is interesting to think about in this context (light vs darkness): blackholes may be an essential part in the process of forming galaxies. With having blackholes as ultimative darkness in mind I slightly disagree with 13:52 'darkness not beeing able to touch light in the same way light can dominate darkness'😝Without darkness there is no place for light to shine 😉

Modern-Urban-Fantasy/Supernatural T.B.R. Christmas of 2023, written by Nathan Oaks & Benjamin Parrish: "The Northman Saga" Caelan Erikson is an immortal Norseman in modern times tht has spent half a millenia procuring Divine & Unholy Weapons & Relics as The Archangel Michael's left hand. Caelan Erikson was a Pagan-Viking-Warrior-King blessed/cursed with this opportunity, instead of HELL. In the beginning of his journey, Caelan wields "GLACIUS" a Divinely enhanced Axe 🪓 tht is nigh- unrecognizable to the Axe he wielded as a Mortal, even tho it is one and the same. Mental & Physical enhancements, as well as to Caelan's Axe, Armor & Gauntlet w/Retractable Shield 🛡 are all he has (he has a Wolf too) to defend himself against the Darkness that have the same assignment has him. Caelan Erikson walks a path tht is in the Gray on his best of days and on his lesser days, Caelan's Shadow-Self shows why he could Never truly stay in the Light

The anti hero and a villain are not the same thing. The villain sakes to create a new reality structure. They want domination of those around them to their will. The anti hero see the current structure as corrupt or ineffective. However they lack the ability to create a new one. As a result they work to destroy that structure. One of two things will happen. The structure will produce a hero to stop the anti hero and transformer the structure in the process. The other possibility is the anti hero is successful in pushing over the structure. It's fall and burning brings forth the Phoenix hero to build something new from the ashes. The anti hero is an agent of creative chaos and destruction.
