I think we all love maomao the way she is. Really love the dynamic between jinshi and maomao, she's extremly sharp witted but doesn't go out of her way to pry into things hence why she keeps missing key details about jinshi. More specifically to keep it spoiler free as it will soon be sorted out in the anime BUT, also due in part to the circumstances of her life why jinshi's attraction and love for his "favorite toy" is gone unnoticed. (it would be more accurate to say maomao has sworn off that "love stuff" hence why she is oblivious to it all)

So sweet, I didn't expect this song to actually be about how Jinshi feels. It says, Maomao is a curious kitten (cat, but nah ik you agree) that doesn't care what she likes is dangerous or not! Though she still is the same her today, she doesn't notice his love for her. Her feelings about him didn't change at all. So he quietly watches this cat from far. He respects her and silently loves her.... NO BUT.. I feel like Maomao just..lost her emotion 'love' due to the situation of her biological parents, plus she has a complex personality and thinking, well cause she is smart! That's why she became the way she is. But hopefully.... one day she will understand herself and Jinshi will make her feel love after a long time!! SO BEAUTIFUL... Honestly though, when Maomao dies, will she show us the meaning of "Curiosity kills the cat"? Hahaha!! xD
