This is really cool we have recently started intensive courses here in the uk lasting three months typically. It’s not degree level but offers vocational training to get into a field of interest. It’s kind of a crowdfunding deal from businesses trying to get more people into their fields and some come with a fast track interview at the end.

@@alfinbinu1295 The US got rid of their apprenticeship programs for some reason, but now they're bring them back. The American Dream only worked for 20 years.

@@alfinbinu1295 no, I don’t deny America lags behind the rest of the developed world in many areas but to say we’re a third world country with a Gucci belt is wrong. Millions of people, like my parents, come to America of all countries for valid reasons and it’s not because they don’t know Europe exists.

There's definitely value - no matter what country you are in - in learning from what works best around the world. Overall life satisfaction tends to be fairly comparable between the EU and North America (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satisfaction_with_Life_Index) but there are certainly areas where they can each learn from each other. The German apprenticeship program has often been held up as a model to aspire to (www.insidehighered.com/views/2018/03/27/how-adapt-german-apprenticeship-model-work-best-us ) and it's been cool to see more programs reviving apprenticeships in the US to good effect (e.g. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oajRp3h5hMx4o9k ).

Is there some app online that can automatically create a roadmap for your career? Like a book recommender app but for your career… and then it helps you with finding out what certifications you need to succeed to get to your dream job?
