Why would you order a CT w/ contrast abd of a suspected pancreatitis? I mean, the course of treatment for pancreatitis would be rest, fluids, IV analgesics, and have the patient NPO. So, why subject them to unnecessary radiation from the scan? You already have the elevated lipase (as long as it’s like 5-6x higher than average), the patient w/ abd pain.

GREAT JOB AGAIN. However also never forget to consider any abdominal pain that radiates to the back for AAA or TAD. its called the great imitator for that reason. Keep up the good work.

Great video! Splitting the abdomen into quadrants and knowing what organs are found in each quadrant definitely helps with making the right diagnosis. Can't wait for the next part! 😃

Thank you Kaitlyn for a concise presentation on upper quadrant abdominal pain. The population that would have an atypical presentation of abdominal pain are older people, the immunocompromised and pregnant women.

Please put on your radar-Mesenteric Artery Ligament Syndrome. Reoccurring epigastric pain after all other gi tests have been completed, is also a viable reason to suspect. Please research the difference between mals compression and neurogenic involvement. Thanks
